I absolutely love "Best Friends Become More..." stories. Mostly because of the forbidden love themes that are found in them. These are wonderful in that they can build such a great tension over the long haul of a story (while still remaining very innocent, unlike a lot of incest stories, which I really can't get through).

I was thinking about a story where a senior in college as a last hurrah plans to go on a cross country road trip with his buddy. For whatever reason, his buddy has to cancel, but his life long friend says that she can go. Reluctant at first (maybe, knowing that there would be an erotic tension between them) the guy accepts.

The story would focus on the trip and the tension. Maybe with each motel they stay in, the take another step up the sexual ladder.

maybe at first, they get separate rooms, but eventually, one motel only has a single room left...

And/or the room has two beds... (Maybe they always got one room with two beds to save money, or maybe that last motel with only one room left had two beds. OR, and this one just came to me after rereading Sirhugs' post, they kept getting one room with two beds, until that last motel only had a ONE BED room left.)

i do love the idea of friends becomming lovers and the slow sexual tension build up. But as i discovered not long after high school that sometimes it can ruin the friendship. :(

This was a movie, called "It Happened One Night," with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. They hung a blanket on a rope between the two beds to keep things clean, but then, of course, the wall had to come down eventually.......
