Publisher Introduction
Noble Romance Publishing, LLC
Think Kink™

Dear Author:

We are pleased to introduce you to a brand new publishing company. Noble Romance Publishing is a royalty-paying, full-service e-publisher of superior quality, cutting-edge erotic romance. We challenge our authors to take risks, and to push the sexual envelope while still maintaining their story's romantic integrity, the combination of which is guaranteed to satisfy even the most discerning erotic romance reader.

What can you expect from an e-publisher that claims they're a cut above the rest?

• ADVANCES OF UP TO $1,000.00.
• A complete, publisher-backed book promotion package, which includes step-by-step guidelines on how to market your e-book online, as well as discount coupons on banners, advertising space and promotional items.
• We realize what a critical component advertising is to selling e-books. We have a generous budget set aside for this, and will use it to promote our authors the best way we see fit. This includes on-line and in-print advertising.
• Our customizable Web site will allow your readers to link to your books, your personal Web site, your blogs, etc. Update your author section, so your fans can keep track of all your latest news, from one convenient location.
• Author contests - incentives - within the company, which give you the opportunity to win prizes like free print copies of your books, free advertising on various readers' sites, free promotional items, featured author slots and more. We're in business not only to publish fantastic books, but also to help you develop a larger fan base.

Please take a moment to visit our site, and if you have any questions or would like to review our sample publishing contract, please contact us at samplecontract@nobleromance.com.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best Regards,

Jill N. Noble

Daring, risky, push-the-envelope hot. Our authors are free to explore any sexual fantasy, even those considered too risque for some of our competitors.

Right.

Except:

What we will NOT consider under any circumstances:

* Erotica without romance.
* Pedophilia. All sexually active characters must be age 18 or over.
* Necrophilia.
* Bestiality, in the traditional sense of the word. Werewolves and other make-believe creatures are acceptable.
* Incest.
* Snuff.

Industry standards. The only one I don't see on the list is "rape/non-consent."

*shrug*

And no straight erotica? Must be a romance? Feh. Pushing boundaries? I don't think so...

ETA: This is interesting. I wonder if they've checked out Lit's chain stories?

Well, they are a Romance publisher... I think it is perfectly acceptable for a SF publisher to say they don't want Westerns... but they can still say they are pushing boundaries within their genre. So I don't consider that a negative, not in that sense.

I don't know Jill Noble, though... It might be worth looking at a sample contract if you have a romance or erotic romance burning a hole in your pocket...

Just because something sounds too good to be true doesn't mean it's not true. Does it?

Thanks for the heads-up, NobleR. We are a cynical lot around here, aren't we? But that's what contracts are intended to cure.

I guess I am cynical... it's a gamble, signing with a brand new publisher. Stardust closed its doors and I had five books hanging out to dry... of course, it happens to not-so-new publishers either. Mardi Gras closed just after I signed contracts. *sigh*

Of course, if someone had gotten in on the ground floor with Samhain...

I guess you just never know...

Samhain sent me a rejection notice but told me to submit more. They like my writing, just not the novel I sent them...

I haven't got a finished ms to send anyone :( ... I need to get writing damn it!

The advance up to $1,000 is what has me saying hmmm... Does that not seem unreal to anyone?
