I have no pretensions for objectivity (whatever that means); just what I think might intrigue other people... It's an experiment. If there is some interest, I'll be happy to continue, as I find those intriguing poems. Otherwise, I am happy with what I have been doing so far (including checking out what others recommend). Thanks you bj for the suggestion!
See you at the poems!

p.s.
I wish to encourage others to do the same. I know I will look for the recommendations...

about Synecdoches and other academic creatures...

In “Poetics 101” by foehn2. It’s all about Synecdoches and other academic creatures...
I think last year when I first visited the poem I had a head ache or something ...frankly, I can't remember... but can't a person revisit a poem and say more? Of course he can. This is hilarious! What a parody of students being under the oppressive rule of the all knowing professors…
I was reminded of my own school years, and in particular the dreaded "synecdoche" stood out. This technical term for one type of metaphor sounded so funny to the students that it was spontaneously adopted as a serious bad name: "you synecdoche, you promised to take the book for me from the library, I knew I could not trust you!"
Embarrassingly enough, I still haven’t figured out the way (despite the specific advise I received) which would have allowed you to link directly to the poem… :-(
As soon as I discover the way, I’ll correct the situation. In the meantime, make the extra effort to reach "Poetics101", it’s worth it.

I know all too well. that was one upsetting day... I felt about her poems the way you feel about quality book you have in your lilbrary. you know you will visit it again and again. Not all in one time, but each visit would be memorable. But now they are not here any more ...

ahh... thank you guys. I forget that I did have a few fans. Now I feel guilty. I may try to get them together and put them somewhere for you to read. I love both of you for saying such nice things and love your poetry, too.

Just how tall, Evie. Tall women do something very strange to my libido.

I wanna see the Bob poems. Bob in a box? Sounds really juicy. Posted somewhere?

"...There is nothing new under the sun"

And yet, those words need to be said again and again in new ways. Lauren Hynde can say it better than most as she does in Still Born Soldiers
The poem Immediately resonated to me with the terse tone of the Hebrew book of Qohelet (Ecclesiastes): "What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done there is nothing new under the sun" ... At each age you may take those line to mean something somewhat different.
In addition, the poem uses language which associates with endless births and with endless deaths; all to the numbing roll of a drum, reminiscent of any dramatization of mass mindless movement of workers or soldiers we have seen in the last hundred years on the screens or on stage from Metropolis of Lang to Modern Times by Chaplin.

Let all the'know it all's be warned and beware!

As If by cymry

I love irreverence and hole pokers in pompous 'know it all's, and that's what I found here.
Let the words of the title serve as a warning to any pretentious B.S. coming this poet’s way... I suspect it’s as much about people going about laying their ultimate truths in thick layers on others, as it is on the pseudo science aka as Scientology. Clearly, this poet makes it abundantly clear that she could not care less for 'know it all's', who can't wait to ‘open your eyes’…

Being in the right Zen with Bill

Both Zen Fun and Zen Fun 2 by Bill Dada are clearly fun and thought provoking. Where should I begin... before you realize you started reading the poems you already find yourself contemplating their meaning (a hint: to say the least- the guy does not waste any words here). How is that for a mind twisting experience? Then you have the playfulness of the puns: combining harmless western aphorisms like: 'Early to bed early to rise' with a Zen punch. 'to bed' turns into 'Tibet', which gives rise to a potentially quite different meaning of "rise". But even if you stay with the humor, resulting from the play on the homophonic quality of the words, you would still probably satisfy your local Zen master (and perhaps Bill Dada too), as you stayed at the moment, observing with a smile unrealized qualities of the same materials (words) you automatically use every day for "practical" matters.

Great thread Kolkore. I discovered a couple great poems that I hadn't read before and I always enjoy reading your comments. Also thank you for the kind words on my Zen poems, your comments are always fun. I am looking forward to reading more of you poetry finds.

I wanna see Bob poems as well.
