I'd like to see some well written stories with at least a few decent drawings to go with it. Most stories I see that have accompanying artwork don't seem to have more than one drawing (stick figures do not count!!), and when I say drawing, I don't mean actual pictures. I mean drawings. The type you use stencils, pencils, charcoal, the Paint program, whatever, lol. It doesn't really matter what kind of story. I would like to see a fantasy one, perhaps, with maybe a vampire (and not the Buffy the Vampire kind, where their foreheads and veins bulge out...) seducing a young woman (not mind control) and her falling in love with said vampire. This can work with werewolves, too, but I figured vampires might be easier to draw, lol.

I've always said that the Illustrated Stories section is ripe territory for exploitation, but as someone who has done two stories for that section ('Bride of Sacrifice' and 'Of Anna 333'), I have to admit that it does require a lot of work. It's a tricky thing to find someone who can both write and draw very well -I still cringe a bit when looking at what I did for those two stories.

I did have an aborted third story on the go, which involved a twisted take on the legend of the minotaur. In that one, the art was coming easier than the writing, but since a proper Illustrated Story requires both, it never got finished (though it may be revisited, if I can find the motivation).

In any event, I share the sentiment that a single image doesn't transform an ordinary story in any particular way -and I share the same level of mild annoyance when a photo is used in place of an 'illustration'.

I love stories with pictures. I just wish I had the talent to make some pictures. Heck, I just wish I had the talent to make the stories in the first place so that I had some stories to GO with the pictures!...:rose::kiss:

Hmm, well how about if one person wrote the story, and some other talented soul drew the illustrations? lol Maybe that would work better, seeing as how it's hard to get those two particular talents in one package...(not the greatest at drawing myself, lol)

If the two stories I posted ever get around to being approved, maybe someone who can draw and would like to have an illustrated story could get with me (after reading said stories and they think I'm good enough for the job!), and I can write the story while they do the drawings! lol

I know if an author is participating in the Survivor Contest they have to be the "owner" of the entire work. (Story plus illustrations, or in the case of the Audio category story plus voice.) But that prolly has nothing to do with this request...

I'm not sure if, in general at Lit, an author has to be the artist too... Anyone know?

Well, I'd think that would be kind of like two people writing one story, right? As long as they both agree to it and get credit for it, I don't see how that could go wrong...

But, at Lit the person that submits the story gets the credit.

Say you drew up some pics and I wrote the text so I submitted the story. It would say Story by BedtimeStories77. The one that submitted the story would have to write in some kind of disclaimer crediting the other party.

And I was just saying I'm not sure if the site technically allows it or not. That's all.

See the Vsiual Artists Corner forum: http://forum.literotica.com/forumdisplay.php?f=50

I'm interested in illustrating erotic stories, and I have a couple on the back burner, but I'd be happy to do something as long as it's short and simple.

You can either write a story around a picture, or give me a little story and I'll try to draw it - as I said, keep it simple, and I prefer not to do incest or non-consensual stories.

No great writing talent needed if I'm going to draw it, even a simple outline, maybe some character details, setting, etc., will work.

Here's my thread: http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=577018

If you don't like that there are many other excellent artists in there as well, though I can't speak for them as to what extent they might be willing to collaborate with a writer.

Hope to see some of you.

Well, for someone who wants to do an illustrated story there is a free 3D program called DAZ Studio:

While I am just venturing into the world of erotic writing for fun, this program has helped me set up illustrations that sparked my imagination. I hope this helps you with your stories :cattail:

When you're making a new post there's a group of smilies over towards the right. ~~~~~>

lol

:cathappy: :catroar: :D

I think mine doesn't come with that, lol, cause all I see is gray. There's the box on the bottom that's the post icons, but that's it...:(

I would love to work with an artist ... to create a story and he/she does the art!

I've considered submitting something to the illustrated stories section as my first work. To be honest, I'm in the middle of half a dozen different stories at any one time, many of which may wind up in writer's limbo never to be finished. But I do have some of my work up on deviantart, a brand new scanner, and a mind full of twisted kinky ideas....

Of course, one thing I do have to ask, do you have to do anything different when submitting an illustrated story? I didn't see anything mentioned in the FAQ.

I have no idea, as I haven't posted a story w/art myself. I'd figure if you had to do anything different, it would say it on th FAQ. Might have to leave a note in there that it IS an illustrated story, and probably post the pictures up too, so they can get to them. Kind of like when you're posting a pic on a thread.

As far as I know they don't really care who did the artwork you post until someone complains.

I beleive why you don't see many illustrated stories, most people can't draw and posting pictures of yourself generally isn't going to happen so they will copy pictures from porn sites and such, these sites pay attention so doing that will draw a complaint and get the pictures at least pulled.

However, if you are drawing impaired there is a semi free way to do an illustrated story with pictures that no one will complain about. Second Life is free to join though making yourself look presentable will take alot of patience or a bit of money. Sex is a huge market in that, mostly in animations but for an illustrated story purpose that's mostly all you need, after getting some nice hair and clothes and skin of course.

Well OK if your doing a straight sex you gotta buy a penis, or at least find a helpful guy who has one already. Second Life wasn't designed with sex in mind, I am so not sure why, people being people sex comes up fast. ;)

Anyway, after you get your animations, a nice looking place to use said animations and another person all you gotta do is start having sex like in the story and take pictures. Second Life has a handy snapshot option, you can take pictures of anything you see in Second Life, you then save the picture to your inventory which costs you 10L, the currency in Second Life are called Lindens or L for short, or save it to your hard drive which is free.

After saving to your hard drive it is either saved in TGA format or JPG, I'm not sure which it's done both to me. Though I am pretty sure a normal picture will be JPG which I beleive means you can just give it to Literotica to post with your story. No one will be claiming you stole it or any of that.

The only hard part is Second Life was not designed for doing things on the avatar, so skins and clothes will stretch in odd and not good ways in certain positions. Which means you have to angle your pictures just so and/or wait for the right moment in the case of showing the sex happening.

I'm not sure many people would get aroused out of seeing a second life characters...
