News from amicus

Good news there, ami. Welcome back.

So let's recap:

1. You're not dead, and the cancer is taken care of. So far so good.
2. You'll have to post sober from now on. Uh-oh. ;)

Welcome back Amicus,

Glad to hear the prognosis and I fully understand the feelings about the Foley. Take time and allow yourself to heal.

Ah, your profession, I remember now, yes, you would know all about the catheter thing, I imagine. Thank you for the welcome, nice to feel at least partly alive again, take care.

Welcome back, ami. :rose:

It just wasn't the same around here without you pulling my braids (and I don't think your daughter had the same appreciation for my AV as you do ;) )

Prognosis is that cancer did not attach to walls of bladder and was completely removed and a week or so later, things are slowly returning to normal.

I have been given a choice, stop all nicotine and alcohol intake and live, or....die.

Fairly easy choice, eh? More easily said than done as I am discovering.

Yeah...always easier said than done. I'm glad to hear that the prognosis is good though. Welcome back. :rose:

Thank you Katyusha, very nice to be welcomed back by so many, nice indeed...

Glad to hear you're okay ... on the wagon you go! :)

(btw, can I just say, this community totally rocks? )

Glad you're back, Ami. And sorry for your experiences. Good thing the cancer was removed, but the foley . . . well, I've been on the receiving end of those myself, and they are definitely no fun. No matter how cute is the nurse who removes it. ;)

Welcome back.

Thanks slyc, removal was by old Urologist, my age and disposition, he asked if I was ready for this and before I could answer, he had it out....GASP!!!...and ouch!

But earlier...sighs, lovely young thing named Jin, said she was eight years a nurse and 30, looked twenty at best and her task was to remove smaller diameter catheter and insert larger diameter....I guess she forgot the lydocaine, to numb me and I tore the paint off the walls, brought tears to her eyes and she fled...sighs....still feel sad about her....

nice to be back...at least in part...thanks again....

You had a worse time of it than I, then . . . :p

To be honest, I wasn't worried. Certain grindstones never lose their edge . . . .

Looking forward to our next discussion, Ami.
