News from amicus

Wow J, this explains the 'bear with a sore head' attitude... well maybe not.
I hope the operation went well, and wish you a speedy recovery, and I am curious as to how you now regard the US health service ;)

It's not quite the same place without you.

Sending hopes and wishes for recovery and return to life and Lit....as soon as possible.

Mat

I'm very sorry to hear the news, and offer my warmest hopes for your recovery, Amicus. I promise not to tell you if I sneak in a few prayers as well.

Thanks VM I knew there was someone else that wasn't reactionary out there :D

The way I heard it was "If you are not a liberal at 20, you have no heart,
If you are not a conserative at 40, you have no brain. :D

Winston Churchill.

My apologies to all and at the same time, fond and heartfelt 'thankyou's', to all who posted here and to the 'lil witch' for passing on the message.

Back in my cave again; children, who flew in from all over the country and nursed me for a week, left yesterday, today is my first day back in my usual solitude, which I treasure so very much.

For those of you who appreciate gory details, know that I made an intimate acquaintance with a 'Foley' device, with which I never wish to make again.

It appears my entire urinary system shut down, was blocked by a tennis ball sized cancer in the bladder, which was removed, through the Foley, I guess (I was hiding behind narcotics).

Prognosis is that cancer did not attach to walls of bladder and was completely removed and a week or so later, things are slowly returning to normal.

I have been given a choice, stop all nicotine and alcohol intake and live, or....die.

Fairly easy choice, eh? More easily said than done as I am discovering.

Spring is near, here in the great Northwest; I am hoping a new garden will rejuvenate my spirits and outlook in real terms.

To my children, as I have tried to say a thousand times already, I am so very proud of them for interrupting their own very busy lives and tending to me...without them....dunno...would have been a hard road at best.

And to all here who have expressed a variety of opinions, all respected, thank you a thousand times over for your kindness.

:rose::rose::rose:

Amicus in abeyance (momentarily)

Sorry to hear of the restrictions, happy to hear the prognosis... We'd rather ya stuck around for a bit, ol' chap...

:D

Damn glad to see you, ami.

Ami,
Glad to hear things are looking up. Quiting smoking is something I know about, clean since December 3 last year. After day 14 it seems to get easier. Good luck good sir! ;)

Hi, Smoove A. Good to see you recovering.

Good to see you back. I hope your recovery is speedy and all is well again. :rose:

No cigs or booze? Dr. Roxanne prescribes medicinal marijuana. The good sheet, mon - none of that crappy official ditch-weed.

Best wishes for a full and quck recovery. :rose:

I will try, although it is a lonely battle as you well know. I'm glad I caused a grin or two. :D
