Confused: Should I submit elsewhere?

I wondering if I should re-submit the first chapter of my story to Romance. What do you think? And if I do, is it better to post within that category? The link's below.

My dilemma is it might not be sexed up enough to meet the general expectations of an EC reader. Conversely, I wonder if Romance readers prefer the sex scenes to be toned down. Is there such a thing as being too erotic for Romance, even if the other story elements are there?

My confusion comes from seeing a couple popular--in terms of ratings and votes--writers post in both categories, where the sex scenes aren't explicit (not the: hi, five minutes later they're bent over the sink stuff) and are secondary to the storyline.

And if I resubmit, do the votes and comments recieved get wiped out?

yep, votes and comments go the way of the highway. I haven't read your story but I'll tell you, my stuff can be pretty explicit and I post in the romance cat all the time. Even happy Romance readers enjoy a good fucking occassionally. Good luck.

DK is right. Decide who your target audience is and choose the category. Play to your hoped-for readership.
