Okay, so I was feeling a lil down this morning and decided to hit the grocery store as I've been needing to get fresh stuff and I went down the ice cream aisle.

Oh my! The sights that my eyes beheld. All different kinds of icey treats to soothe the soul. I stopped in front of the glazed freezer doors at the Haagen-Dazs section. A veritable cornucopia of frozen bounty did my eyes lose focus on. My hand as if guided by some greater spirit opened the door and did close down upon an innocent pint of chocolate. The cold seeping through my fingers, I set this wonderful treasure in my basket and made my way to the register.

Not visions of sugar plum faeries nor warm memories of treats from Christmas dinners of yore did settle upon my mind but this one surreal fantasy. Running naked through the wild cocoa forests of the Amazon in search of the fantastic brown pearl that would make my day one of joy and contentment, the bright green foliage casting shadows upon the soft, bare earth as I leap and dance over jumbled roots and brooks of crystal clear water. To fall at last at the base of the one cocoa tree with the perfectly ripened fruit of the Gods. Fruit falling open at the behest of my trembling hands to spill out the heaven sent beans.

These amazing things my mind sees as I set a spoon full of Haagen-Dazs upon my tongue, to melt and fill my senses with its wonder just as the chemical cocktail that nature has imbued within frees me from stress and worry. I relax and float in the hedonistic enjoyment of the artistic master craft of the chocolatier.

Now, off to the freezer with the rest of you before insanity sets in and brain freeze.

Thats NEW YORK, LIBERAL, JEWISH, COMMIE SCUM to you!

*Takes her pint of Ben and Jerry's and storms off*

( :D tee-hee-hee)

Haagen-Dazs makes a rum raisin that is simply perfection. And now I want some!

Im a Ben and Jerry's fan myself.

If I need a super sweet sugar and chocolate fix, I opt for the Phish Food.

It's a bit over the top sweetness-wise, but it hits the spot during PMS.

That and I like the little fudgy fish.:) They make me happy.

Phish Food was my favorite for YEARS though now they have this other flavor called Doublin Mudslide that I think I like even more.

I have tried neither of those, I see that my work is cut out for me. :D

mmmm Ice Cream taste-athon!! Ready, steady.. Go!

Tasty.

Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia is my classic go-to when I have a jones for really sweet ice cream. Chubby Hubby comes in second. I used to like Haagen Dasz when it was an essential part of any dessert called "Death by Chocolate" but my inner hippie simply cannot pass up the work of Ben and Jerry. Will have to look into touring their factory when I next return the Vermont.

Oh Dublin Mudslide is good too! I think they only make it certain times of the year, or they used to. One Sweet World is really good too.

I can't remember the last time I had ice cream...hmmm

Uh, yeah, I think I had a orgasm just reading that:D

Yum!

ok, thats not fair lol

Now that I have my bowl of peppermint patty and rum and raisin I can go back to considering favorite ice cream

Black cherry wins hands down though

You people are making me miss living in the States, purely for the great ice cream.

*grumbles about the lack of interesting flavors here*

Don't forget New York Super Fudge Chunk..to die for!!

A couple of weeks ago we finished off a pint of Karamel Sutra. Man, was it good! It seemed appropriate since we were piled up in the bed at the time. :D ;)

I love Haagen Daaz' plain chocolate.

I love B&J's Cherry Garcia and Phish Food although it's so sweet I really cant have too much of it. I love the Dublin mudslide and another favorite by them is "everything but the" although sometimes the chunks of peanut butter cup are too big.

Around here, the local morning DJ's have their own ice cream. It's called "Gadzooks" and "Gadzooks Blanc" and it's made by Bassett's ice cream. Blanc is vanilla based but both are full of chunks of pretzel pieces and brownies or cookies.. it's YUMMY

and now I want ice cream, dammit

Haagen-Dazs Baileys ice cream is wonderful (especially in the Baileys shakes you can get at Haagen-Dazs shops & kiosks. Also love Ben & Jerry's (Phish Food, Cherry Garcia, Caramel Chew Chew). At least we're lucky enough to be able to get them in the UK.
