Remind me to explain how I tell if an avocado is ripe or not.
is it in the squeezing?
I made my Turkey Meatball & Winter Root Vegetable Soup again today, just so I could snap a picture for the cookbook:

Oh, and it was okay to eat, too, I guess.
Yeah.
It's actually something a guy I was in culinary school with taught me. He was from South America, and he explained that you shouldn't squeeze the avocado with your finger tips (which is what everyone does when testing fruit/veg). Instead, you let the avocado rest in the cup of your hand and gently squeeze with the meat of your palm. You're still able to sense the firmness and the pliability of the fruit without bruising it.
exactly.
My ex-mother in-law taught me that as well.
excellent squeezing advice.........

There is more to cookies than creamed butter and sugar, Sugar.
She didn't mean the cookie dough when she said she liked it raw.
I made it with grilled pork and pureed some of the broth and veggies to make it creamier (and to hide the large pieces of kale from my little one). He started wolfing it down, then stopped...stared at it...then asked why there was seaweed in the soup.holy CRAP that looks good!
Peak dough snitching is right after you add the chips.Poser!

You used to be very tolerant of other's food preferences in the Foodgasm thread. Now it is all about attacking and judging.
I think the cookbook has inflated you food ego. Although others may have the screen name, you are the true food snob.

I love the grilled pork version just as much as the turkey meatball one, if not more so. The first time I made that was in Maui, with you.I made it with grilled pork and pureed some of the broth and veggies to make it creamier (and to hide the large pieces of kale from my little one).
