What don't you understand about quadraplegic??

These people had fucking better get fired. Not reprimanded, not demoted, not suspended without pay as their punishment, FIRED. That just makes me sick.

OMG. There is no excuse for that. How ignorant or uncaring do you have to be to treat someone that way?

They obviously believed he was faking... some panhandlers do... but it's still no excuse for that sort of behavior.

I swear, I would call the US cops on my worst enemy.

There's other ways to determine if someone is faking. Poke his leg. Hell, call in a medical record.

If anything, search him as he sits there. Don't do the shit they did.

How can someone do that to another human? The guy I'm sure has lawyered up and that is great. hope he wins a lot but what sucks is that we the tax payer will pay not the goverment officals responsible for this. sure the cops might get canned, but what about the person in charge of these cops? in my fantasy, the cops get canned, and have to pay...the sherrif loses his house and his retirment package. in this case, crap rolls up hill not down.

I can't even use words. Just look at the report and watch the police's own video.

US Police dumped paralysed man.

The cop that did the tipping is suspended on no pay pending investigation. the other three have been put on 'administrative' leave - in other words, suspended on full pay.

I liked this quote: "The actions are indefensible at every level," Chief Deputy Jose Docobo said of the incident. "Based on what I saw, anything short of dismissal would be inappropriate."

I'm with him. No police force needs advertisements or employees like these.

I've been in the Orient Road Jail maybe 200 times. Some of the staff are bonafide assholes, and I'm not surprised one of them dumped the man from his wheelchair.

Just look at Police Forces all over the country. Who selects Police Recruits? Who Trains them? Other cops. The old cops all have John Wayne complexes, thinking they are above the law and out to "clean up Dodge City." The ones they select to join the brotherhood are specifically selected because they are the same.

What else would you expect that one of them would pull some shit like this? You think this is an isolated case? Naw. This guy was just so stupid he did it in front of a camera and got caught.

Wait! They stole this whole scene from the Cohen Brother's "The Big Lebowski"!!!

Walter: "I bet he is not even really a cripple!"

Isn't there some kind of copyright infringement?

The two broads that were directly involved should be fired without any sort of pension or anything at all...the man that was dumped should then sue their frigging asses to the wind!

As for the 'witness' he is just as much at fault, why, because he did not go over as soon as he saw it and take over. If he didn't want to 'get involved' where's his balls, and why did he not live up to the oath of 'To serve and protect'.

I think anyone that saw this happen, and the 'guys' that came to help him back into the chair should all be let go. If this is what is protecting the people of Tampa Id hate to see who isn't!

I hope this man's family rallies around him and takes the department for a shitkicking!

The local newspaper has inserted itself into the fun.

In today's edition they include glowing praise for the deputy and unflattering gossip about the victim. The praise is from judges who utilized the deputy as a bailliff and liked her work. The gossip involves official records of police responses to the victim's home, but doesnt indicate why they were called...so neighbors speculate.

Based on my own experiences with jail staff, they are often cranky, rude, and difficult. I suspect the deputy gave the guy some attitude, he gave it right back to her, and she dumped him on the floor.

Here's an account of my last trip to that jail. They require you to place all your stuff in a lock-box. But you cant take the box key with you inside. They insisted the key be taken to your car and left there. And that means you have to leave your car keys in the car with the car unlocked because the box key is in the car. CATCH-22. And they couldnt care less about the security of your car.

These people are suppose to be trained to deal with uncooperative people.
Dumping them on the floor when they 'know' he can't walk is police brutality.
If he is KNOWN to the department, they would KNOW he couldnt stand up!

If they are called to his home so often, why is he not refered to a different department, maybe mental services?

There is no excuse for being hurt under the care of people that take an oath of protecting the public. Innocent until proven Guilty ring a bell?

I think the deputy will be acquitted.

She and the others have had time to get their stories straight, they'll testify the victim was a racist-sexist swine or whatever, and he got on her last nerve with the verbal abuse. I mean, anyone can be pushed too far.

She'll retire with her pension, first, and the jury will figure thats enough punishment.

I saw this on TV earlier, and it totally sucks. What did that dumb bitch think the wheelchair was for?

At the same time, this kind of thing probably does happen all the time. The difference is, this time it was videotaped. They still might get away with it, especially if the local newspaper thinks all the cops are supergood.
