Australia bound!

Hi all.

Since I'll be in Sydney from March 26th until april 2nd, where I head out to Ayers Rock, I was wondering if there are some here that can give me some ideas as what to see in Sydney, and if there's an intereste for a small informal get together?

I have some not so good news.....Gil is in the hospital again. His fistula clotted again this afternoon. Don't know why, the warfarin was supposed to keep this from happening

They are giving him plasma IV to thicken his blood so they can hopefully unclog it tomorrow morning - then I guess they will fill him full of heparin to thin it down again

Everything was fine yesterday when he dialysed....we are both baffled and upset that this has happened again only 3 months after the last episode  :(

{{{{{{{{{{{Bandit & Gil}}}}}}}}}}}}}}  Adding extra prayers for both of you.

*hugs* to you & Mr Gil. Tell him the florida crew send hugs, :kiss:s & prayers that we get some straight answers for you AND they are all good ones!!!
So far things have been good on this last surgery except for the billing once again. They didn't send anything to the insurance company just straight to me so I can call & yell at them & explain how they should do thier jobs:rolleyes:

Updating.
Same as last time, he's having a vascath put in this afternoon so he can dialyse tomorrow. Wednesday he'll be in theatre where they will try to unclog the fistula. Depending on where they put the vascath (chest or groin) he may be able to come home in a week. He can't come home if they put it in the groin, he won't be allowed to walk.

I have instructions to go have a nap before I go back later this evening.

Please do get the rest they recommend. Don't want you getting worn down and then open to all kinds of nasty germs too. Keeping you and Gil in my prayers.

My thoughts are with you both. Please make sure you look after yourself, Bandit. Sleeping and eating properly are two basic things that we need to do - yet often neglect in times like this.
I hope all goes well on Wednesday

Another update:
Gil is ok, they put the vascath in his upper chest on the left side this time because they couldn't get it in the right side where he's had it before because of scarring. He will have dialysis tomorrow morning at the hospital and then they will attack his arm on Wednesday.

I did have a nap, just finished dinner (yes I know very late but at least i ate!). The weather is truly sucky poured with rain all day and I got wet twice

He has had a wonderful nurse looking after him on afternoons, she is so funny and cheers everyone up even when they're feeling like crap. Susan you're a gem you kept my spirits up while I was waiting for Gil to come back from theatre :rose: God bless nurses! :rose: :)

Well, that is good news, Bandit - and it sounds like Susan is a pearl of great price... keep smiling! :)

As for me? Well, work is work, life is life... and the yearly odometer is about to click over again (I'm an Aquarian, so...)

Keeping Gil (and you, and the rest of the Sydney crew) in my thoughts...
