Hey Folks, as the title reads, i'm quite new to the site. I'm having trouble navigating the site. I posted a story, and it just disappeared, How do I find it, if it was even posted? Its titled " Covered Bridge" Thanks in advance,

First, click this link:

Enter your username and password to log in to the members area. I suggest you bookmark this page, because it can be a pain to find the login links.

Once logged in, find the link for "Submissions" and click it.

On the following page, find the link for "View Current Submissions" and click it.

You should see your story information there. The table at the very top describes what each section of the ones below represent.

In the section for "status" on your story, you should see one of three things: Pending, Approved, or Rejected. My guess is that you'll see "Pending" if you submitted recently. There's anywhere from a 3 to 7 day average turnaround from submission to posting. It may even be a little longer since there's a themed contest going on right now, and that gets priority over normal submissions.

I couldn't find your name listed in the author search, so that means your story hasn't been approved yet.

That leaves only "rejected" In this case, you can click the link to find the reason for the rejection. It could be content related, or grammar related. Sometimes, a couple of odd commas can get your story rejected, and all you need to do is fix those.

Finding them may be another story *laugh* You might consider an extra set of eyes via the Volunteer Editor program or asking around for a proofreader.

If you need clarification on the rejection message, you can always post it up here. Some of them are a bit vague, and they can be mistaken sometimes.

Hey - welcome to Literotica!

If you just submitted your story it could be a week to ten days or so before it shows up. (We're in the middle of the Valentine's Day Contest.)

You need to access your submissions page to find your story information.

Gimme a sec and I'll be back with info.

(I'm rather rummed at present.)

When using the cut and paste method, you have to follow through completely. Check the little box at the top, Put in a story title, story description, you can leave the story tags blank, although I usually fill them in. Paste your story into the text box. Usually, I leave the notes field blank although if you use an editor through the volunteer editors program, you should enter that there.

Click on Preview and make sure you scroll through the story, including all the pages. If you want to make a change, use the "Make Changes" button. Otherwise, click the "submit" button. After that, you should see the story submission status under the link that Dark gave you above.
