Ok, so we need the AH's expert opinion...

As most of you know Misty and I are set to make our relationship official (or as official as possible...)...

NEWAYS, she's saying she doesnt want an engagement ring, but that i should have one, and besides, only one half of a couple wears an engagement ring.

My arguement is this, i 'proposed', so if not both of us, she should at least wear a ring, and besides, we can't get wedding bands yet, so engagement rings in the meantime.

SO! opinions please! answer the poll! (we're just gonna bicker otherwise- insisting the other wears a damn ring...)

Both wear them. I proposed, but I still wore the ring. He wanted one, but we never found something suitable.

Ok, just to let ya'll know...

I proposed FIRST, and she said no.

I have already worn an engagement ring. So, I want her to wear the engangement ring.

Now tell me folks....is it right for a woman to turn down an engagement ring?

*watches you melt and become agreeable*

*ETA* psssst. you're turning the engagement ring down too yannow!

Happens to me all the time :D

There are much more sillier thags to argue about.....;)

Just take a look around...

Besides...I asked first

Or nipple rings.
Or tattoos! :D

When my hubbie proposed, he offered me a very flashy engagement ring. I accepted the proposal, but asked him to return the engagement ring and buy us a nice new bed as the old one was small and falling apart. Our "Engagement bed" was large and sprawling, and very sturdy. It brought us many years of wedding bliss. This year, for our anniversary, Hubbie bought us a new, beautiful, sprawling, sturdy bed, and a pair of matching night tables, too! A much better tradition, I think, than wearing an extra ring on my finger. My wedding ring, which has small diamonds, is the perfect combo, I think, of engagement flash with wedding band.

Save the money and buy a new bed or whatever other domestic item you need to be a happily wedding couple.

Although I voted that both should wear rings, I like this idea better.

I rarely wear my rings (there are three: engagement, wedding band - both with diamonds - and then an anniversary band) because they bother me, among other reasons. ;)

Ok, what about the idea of an inexpensive ring, but one that the other has chosen and bought, for the purposes of wearing on that finger- not neccesarily real or anything like that, but symbollic. Till we get wedding bands?

As for the bed, that's already factored into our plans ;)

(edited coz my spelling is disgusting...)

I'm willing to comprimise..... I'll wear the engagement ring....IF we can have a tie-dye wedding.

I like the gist of 3113's idea... if you already have the bed plans, than do something else similar...

but I ABSOLUTELY feel that if no one wants to wear a ring, no one should. Teasing each other about it is, of course, fair game. :D
