Today I decided to drag the bike out and do a bit of riding. I had to get some gas in the tank, and there were some errands that needed to be run. Instead of taking the car I grabbed the bike and my gear. What the hell, I have it and want to ride it.
I geared up and fired up the bike. My wife got this shot as I got ready to head out.
Total mileage was less than 20 miles but it was all around town. You know that kind of driving I'm talking about. Lot's of stops and starts. Plenty of turns including those away from the stop lines. The bike handled flawlessly and I found myself relaxing even more than before. I can do this and have fun while doing it. Even the jackass who decided to make a left turn from the straight lane, right in front of me didn't phase me. I had seen his head swiveling and expected him to do something stupid. In fact I paused for just a second before taking off to give him some room and time. When he cranked the wheel over I was already grabbing the brake and pulling my turn a bit tighter, not even a pucker and off I went.
Yes the idiots are out there and I watch for them. There is a statement that many riders use; "Ride like you're invisible."
