So the conversation between MIS and a few others made me curious. What's your natural hair color?

A darkish medium brown. I dye it "natural" black (not that obviously fakey dyed black) to cover my premature gray. Regular old brown doesn't cover it. I found my first gray hair when I was 15 years old, and now, at 24, it's getting obvious enough to bother me.

lol....when I had enough hair to bother with, it was a kind of medium, gingerish brown, with mouse highlights.

I must say I prefer the current state of "Iron grey"

Naturally straw blonde.

When I start getting roots, it looks almost silver blonde (not sure how that works, but that's what it looks like), until I have about an inch, and then it looks goldish.

Boring brown, and I have no desire to dye it. I like my hair color

Naturally, dark brown almost black. In the summer you can see a few reddish tints, but the rest of the time it's just dark. I, too, have a few premature greys, which stand out all too well against the dark brown, so I've tried to cover it at times. Going a lighter reddish brown didn't show up AT ALL, and going black just evened out the color, so whenever I do dye it, it's black.

Nondescript brown, with a white witch's streak now at my left temple. Previously, Nondescript brown, with scattered gray. However, that said, my last three driver's licenses have said red, and I've been red for so long now, I'm not sure what I'd look like "natural" anymore. When it was natural, I looked washed out, hence the color job.

a woot for the brownies , hey Graceanne, I had never thought of the chocolate connection, I will bear that in mind next time I chew on it :)

Red

you should have made this a public poll so we could have seen who had what!

My natural colour is a bit weird, almost black but with glints of auburn. My dad had very dark, almost black hair and my mother's was ginger. I dye it a dark red colour that I think looks better with my fair skin. I also have a few (very) premature white hairs that look like wire wool so it covers those as well.

Naturally auburn...and actually thinking about changing it one of these days soon. Anyone know how well semi-permanant dye actually washes out?

It generally washes out pretty well (eventually), except black. No matter WHAT they tell you, there's no such thing as semi-permanent black, that I've found, anyway. If it's black, it's gonna be black 'til you have it cut out or the color stripped out. You can't even cover it with anything.

I have always been blonde, but now I'm more bald on top than blonde. My hair doesn't go grey, it just goes.

(Thank you, thank you...I'll be here all week)

But, I think, in these latter years, my hair has a red tint to it, in the sunlight. One St. Patrick's Day a few years ago, some ladies said I was obviously Irish. That's true, I'm 3/4 Irish, but I didn't know what they meant.

Then, one of them mentioned my red hair. I was lost, because I've had blonde hair, all my life. I'm thinking my Irishness must be coming out, in my old age.

That's a Domly trait, right? Irishness?:D

i am a natural redhead. My hair comes in a dark alburn colour but once the sun hits my hair and starts its voodoo, it turns a bright fiery red. every thing matches too, before you all ask. :p

Um, I didn't say it tasted like chocolate - just looked like it. You know, like a picture. Don't go licking your screen now.
