As I have said before several times on Lit, America would be doing to foreigners exactly what the Iraqi reistance is doing to foreigners now, if we were being occupied.

If Canada invaded the US looking for WMD's (funny, how we've got plenty of those!) and Al Qaeda connections (hello, Dubya anyone? Basil's particularly taken with that remarkable reduction in the first sentence, LT. He feels it goes very well with your accusation of intellectual dishonesty, and begs me to extend his compliments.

Personally, I do think that Phrodeau mistook something, but I suspect it wasn't the meaning of "extol." I think he may have had a little trouble working out exactly what you were saying in that post, what with all of the joyous glee flying about and so many bizarre and unlikely targets for it to be attached to. I think he did end up attaching it to the wrong one, but then, when someone is obviously very happy about something and the subjects one can choose from are killing Canadians, killing Americans, rape rooms, guillotines, and mail bombs, I think that many people would have some trouble in picking out which things they were meant to be happy about.

Still, at least you're a man of principles we can turn to for guidance on appropriate behavior in such a situation. When you've been confused by a word, post, or idea, you're the first to step forward and present a careful and thoughtful response to those who take the time to spell the matter out to you.
