I don't know what's scarier - the fact that you are so dead-on with your evaluation of LT or the fact that you bothered to think about it.

But dearest bunny rabbit - I'm hardly ever at anyone's throat. I've never been at yours. Most of the time I'm sitting happily in my office, reading or writing and drinking sherry. I think I could suffer that from a housemate for a good few days.

My vanity, of course, would only be a charm. I'd admire myself so excessively that I'd have to humbly beg off to get any work done.

Mmmm. Interesting food for thought.

I've been mulling over the possibility that he's locked in an aggression-defense cycle. Is it possible that he's simply never lived near or with people who are kind and open, and thus has convinced himself that the only way he can get anything in the world is to demand it and bludgeon it out of people? That certainly seems to be the model for his social skills, at least as we see them.

Of course, that sort of thing easily becomes cyclical; the short-term gain from snatching and snarling and the long-term disdain of others that that brings can convince someone that the world really is out to get him and that being even more aggressive-defensive is the only way forward. It locks the person (or animal - they do it too) into a cycle of continual aggression and hostility that can be very difficult to break, particularly since the beginning of any progress is recognizing that the behaviors the person perceives as vital to survival are in fact what's causing the long-term, broad-scale problems.

Pity if that's the case. Nothing looks more scary than attempting to approach other people without your defenses up. But then, at other times I think that he thrives on it; he only really seems happy when he can accuse people of gross injustices, so that he feels justified in doing anything he wants, however nasty. Possibly the two concepts are related. Maybe the hatred and continual bitter anger are just the aggression/defense mechanism designed to drive away as many people as possible and subdue or cow the rest.

Your problem with me is that I'm a normal person from the normal side of Terra Firma. I'm also light years smarter than you. You have to make up these stories about me to explain why I, like society at large, reject the values that guide you through your miserable existence. You will of course ignore this post because you have no counter argument - I am normal, and you are insane. It's as simple as that.

And BlackShanglan, you know damned well that the world isn't at my throat. But it would be at yours if you behaved like Bronzeage offline. You know this, and you look like an idiot saying otherwise.
