2007 Results - 2008 Hopes

Even for people who don't make New Year's Resolutions, the flipping of the calendar is a good time to appreciate what the past year has brought you, and what you hope for in the New Year. At Thanksgiving, many families go around the table and say what they're thankful for, now at New Year's let's go around the table and say what the past year has brought us, and we hope for in the New Year.

in 2007, I've returned to Boston, leaving behind California where I'd been miserable. I have a new job, a new condo, and new hopes.

In 2008, I dream of finding love. I also hope that my spirit will cease its restlessness and truly feel at home in my new life.

So what say you Litsters?

2007 brought me to a place in my life that I didn't know I needed, but I was glad I found. It brought me friendships that will be ever-lasting. It brought to me the realization that I am more than a mom/wife/daughter, I am an individual. I am allowed to have desires, dreams and wants. It has taught me that if I want change then I need to be the one to do it. Those I love must change with me or allow me to change, I can not be stifled any longer.

2007 placed me under the care of several surgeons, it forced me to pray to the God I call my Savior. It made me appreciate the air I breathe and as I closed my eyes during each operation I prayed He would allow me to remain just a few more days on this earth. Thankfully he has.

It brought me tears, heartache, pain, sorrow, suffering. It also brought me laughter, joy, love, and growth.

2008.... I hope it brings me closer to those I love, friends and family. I hope it continues to help me grow, succeed in what I do and be there for the ones that need me most. I pray I am kept free of a disease that I going to be tested for. I pray I am free of hospitals and sickness. I pray it brings me answers to the insecurities I still face. I pray it brings with it the Peace we all seek in our lives and in our countries.

I would say I got to this place in 2007. The process was excruciating. I hope you have a smoother time of it.

For 2008 (and beyond), I hope only to make everything I touch (at least) a little brighter, a little warmer, a little better.
