The ignorant people who failed to consider that a young person using an motorized wheelchair can suffer from massive anxiety in trying to maneuver/drive his chair in responsible/safe/courteous manner when they refuse to give him breathing distance/space . It was like he was invisible the way some people acted. He is so well mannered that he constantly stopped to compensate, eventualllllllllly made me want to kick ass, wouldn't be setting a good example about tolerance though.
How can so many people be so damn clueless ?
i hate when that happens! it happened to me once and i was PISSED.
Hopefully its not because people are inherently selfish or just don't give a damn Miss Rebecca.
Hopefully its clueless or ignorance...*nods* those we can work on![]()
Anyway, we're getting back on that horse soon. I'm insisting we keep our dinner 'date' irrespective of todays 'challenges'. They better be serving duck I tell you : laughs :
BTW Thank you for your concern Miss Minx, I almost feel better![]()
Thats the spirit Miss Rebecca (golly I sound very 'old' English - snigger)
Heaven help them if the ducks off and may I recommend a swift but discreet kick to the shin of the next ignoramus, followed of course by a sweet 'oh i'm
terribly sorry' (if you are feeling generous) - that should make you feel much better![]()

I hate shit like that.
The airport yesterday morning pissed me right the fuck off.
I checked in really early, like as soon as the airport opened, because I was on one of the first flights out. I was the first person to check in for my flight, and she asked "any carry ons" I said "No luggage, but I have my kittens and my purse." Princess Peach and Zelda are small enough that they could be in the same carrier. I placed them on the counter, she peeked in, the girls flirted, she measured the carrier to be sure it was okay under the seat in front of me, and checked their shot records. And didn't enter any of that in the computer. We went merrily on our way through the security check point, where the woman gave me a hard time about the metal buckles on their collars. She was so busy bitching about the buckles, she forgot to complain about the metal on their tags with all their info on it...
We get to the gate, wait a bit, and are in the second to last group to board because we were seated close to the front. They stop me. "You have to check the cats." I asked why, as the plane wasn't full. (Yes, I've seen them demand we check carry on when the plane is full, but it wasn't.) The bi, er person goes "We can only have 7 carriers in coach and you're number 8." I said "No. I was the first person checked into this flight and she KNEW I was traveling with my girls. Look at my boarding pass."
"I don't care what your boarding pass says, we don't have you with a carrier on the manifest so you have to check the cats."
"I don't care what the manifest says, your person screwed up, you can fix it. Can't the pilot make an executive decision? (I asked since they're the ultimate decision in who flies on their plane, according to every airline employee I know.)"
"I'm not going to bother the pilot with something so trivial. Let me get you a gate check."
"For the last time, my girls are NOT flying cargo. I'll stand by for a later flight."
"You can't stand by with a carrier and you have a restricted ticket with fees for changes after ticketing." Since FUCKING WHEN can we not stand by with a carrier? I did it last summer!
"I think we need a customer service manager, here, pronto."
I do deep cleansing breaths and play with my girls through the door while we wait and they close out my flight, which leaves, without me. One of the bi- er women who wouldn't let us on the plane wants me to take Zelda out so she can see her. (Zelda's the Bengal and she hadn't seen one up close and personal before.) I declined very politely, considering there was smoke coming out of my ears. The CSM shows up, looks at my res, my ticket, and my boarding pass, confirms me on the only seat on the next flight out, which happens to be in business class. She also gives me 250 dollars in Air Canada vouchers, which I may never use, because I have to get over my mad first. She then tells the two gate agents that the "mis-handling of this situation will be discussed in detail after things quiet down next week."
You know what kills me irrespective of the cause, it undermines his confidence.
I 'do' advocacy but at the same time it's a lead by example frame of reference these days. While I have worked hard on his knowing his inherent value, I have also taught him that the world does not revolve around him. You know there is a such a fine line, I tend to err on the side of believing better of people. Frankly I'm left a little uncertain at this stage if I am giving them a little too much credit in that department. I know the behaviors I saw exhibited today were across the board and my faking it's 'okay' gets kind of exhausting after awhile.
Anyway, we're getting back on that horse soon. I'm insisting we keep our dinner 'date' irrespective of todays 'challenges'. They better be serving duck I tell you : laughs :

On a more serious note Cat, I'm just doing what any parent would just in a slightly less average frame of reference I suspect. Not expecting Saintdom in this life time . Ohh on second thoughts that's a cool analogy, where can I get myself one of those Saint Doms ?
Buelller.........
Bueller..........
Bueller .........
As to your Mum, what can I say. You're kinkee Cat, surely being asleep at 3am is an optional extra ?
Saint Doms? I'm not sure I can visualise such an animal.
