Ropework photos

i cant believe i didnt catch this the first time around:

you never made friendship bracelets, did you?

Nope. The knotwork I did as a youth was all functional stuff. Lashings, using rope for work on the farm, hauling things, climbing, etc.

I'll respond to other posts here in a bit. Doing Christmassy stuff right now.

Here's links to some vendors. I've not used the majority of these, but I have heard good reviews on their products. Many of them will send samples either free or inexpensively.

http://rainbowrope.com/ropefp.html (Well, known for their gorgeous MFP, but also carrying a lot of other great gear)

http://www.esinem.com/main-home-test.htm (Bruce carries European hemp for a fantastic price. S&H can be a little rough as it comes from the UK, but his prices are fantastic. His work is great too, and he happens to be a very polite and interesting chap ove re-mail.)

http://kinkyropes.com/store/index.php?cPath=36 (These folks also offer a variety of really cool accessories. I particularly want to get a set of rope grommets, as they're just cool as hell.)

http://twistedmonk.com/products.htm (Great stuff. Nothing more needs to be said. Okay, well, some of their colours are fantastic. That needed to be said.)

I wanted to add that two knotty boys have a great myspace page with videos of a lot of different ties, including a rope collar a lot like yours! = )

I like the video's 'cause you can see everything as they're doing it. There might be narration; I'm not sure 'cause I don't have sound...

Yup, that is where I got the idea for that braid. I've tried a number of others ones, but that one worked out clean and quick. I didn't link to the TKB vids because, frankly, I have no idea what the link to their page is. I hit their newly posted videos when Dan or JD mention them on a mailing list I'm on. Sometimes I love what they do, other times I scratch my head and wonder why.

But their vids are generally really well done. As to sounds and explanations, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't depends on the vid. For the most part, their shoots are clear enough that explanations really aren't usually needed.

ETA: As an aside, I modified their design to suit my tastes more, as I like neither the start nor the closure shown in the video. Not taking away from their work, just saying that I modified what they showed.

Did some tying tonight with "v". No pics, sorry. Wasn't a tie for "public consumption". Mentioning it not to tease, but to make clear that I do this outside of parties and photoshoots. Too often it seems like I'm doing it fr photo-ops, and I want it clear that ropework is something I do mor ebecause it pleases me than because I get off on the performance.

I do like to perform though

As an aside, no opinions on th edifference in portrayal between Japanese and Western bondage photos? Or is it too niche a subject for this thread?

i dont know enough to comment of the differences in styles. sorry.

what would be a good tie to do on oneself, without the aide of another person. (assume oneself is female, not sure if that would make a difference)

The karada is a good choice, as it is non-restrictive and relatively easy to self-tie. Just do like rida-chan did and prep the initial knots before you put the center rope on your torso. You could also do a rope corset fairly easily. A basic crotchrope would be child's play, and a shinju that doesn't bind the arms would be possible if you're limber and coordinated.

If you need links to these ties, holler.

I'm embarrassed to say this is the first time I've checked out this thread! Wonderful work Homburg, I'm very impressed, and if I do say so myself, you and v are a fantastically sexy pair.

I'm seeing Ma'am in a few weeks, and I'm hoping for the first time in 4 years SHE will be the one to do some rope bondage with me! Time always causes us to forgo it in favour of other things, and she commented to me one day that the gorgeous garnet rope I got her years ago has yet to be used (as it was purchased for use only on me), so I'm hopeful. I've had some wonderful rope bondage experiences with other play partners, but I'm very anxious to feel Ma'ams skills on my own flesh rather than just viewing her art on others.

Thank you for your compliments, serijules!

I wish you good fortune on your own desires to be bound. Garnet sounds pretty. Where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking?

If I may interject ... I found the instruction in the twistedmonk video sites pretty easy to follow:

http://twistedmonk.com/video.htm

Preknotting and prelooping the rope made it much easier: after looping the rope I just stepped in sideways and adjusted the tension.

I have been wanting to try some rope crotch or a proper shinju (did a simple one with two pieces of ribbons) or even better a corset, but have had no time ... and was thinking that for the corset it might be easier to cross the rope in front keeping it loose and than twist it to the back and tight up the rope ...

Have fun :rose:

rainbowrope.com I believe...it's been awhile!

I seem to remember ordering the flat braid as well, but I can't recall now. I know I've been bound in the flatbraid before, but I can't remember if that's what I ordered for Ma'am. I'll have to report back on that in a few weeks!

How different is the flat braid?

Bouncy bouncy bouncy...

And a Happy to New Year to everyone that frequents this thread. You have enriched my practise with your comments, compliments, and feedback. Thank you, and here's to a new year that will hopefully be better than the old one!

How different is the flat braid?

It's very nice, I've had it used on me before and was impressed. It's the same material, just rather than rounded, it is braided flat....much like a friendship bracelet in fact. It lays nice on the skin and just really gives a different look and feel. I'm a fan.

I think that Rainbow Ropes will be at the FFF. Here's hoping they've some flat braid on hand if they do show. I'd love to see it.

Mwahahaha, oh it'll be a better year!

*aranges air tickets to Homy's house*

Whips and chai---- hmm . . ROPES! Here I come!

Decided to start the new year off with a bang. Or, well, a Hang :D

I summoned "v", told her to grab the rope bag, and then set to putting her Christmas present to work. Yes, I busted out the carabiners and did my very first full suspension. It worked out beautifully, better than expected, frankly.

And "v" LOVED it. It was great to see her hanging there, blissed out expression on her face, and swinging lightly in the ropes. An incredible rush, really.

I have a pic or two of the takata-kote (box tie) that formed the upper portion of the suspension, but no pics of the actual hang. I was a bit too busy handling ropes and monitoring her to fuss with a camera. Maybe next time. And, to be honest, I wanted our first suspension to be a moment just for us.

It was a great way to start the new year. Really awesome. I look forward to a year full of ties and suspensions, knots and hitches, moans and yelps. I hope you enjoy the pictures taken along the way!

(I'll post the two interim pics later, after they're cropped and editted and such.)
