went to dinner with my girls tonight for our annual gift exchange. We all made out like pirates.

Champagne all around.

And talked to Daddy.

I should be asleep. Oh well.

Had tea tonight, yay. Also had a nice glass of pinot gris, along with a bit of sushi. I treated myself because it had been a long weekend.

I felt like shithole mother of the year all weekend. I have just been so drained, and I was very irritable this weekend. And my kidlet was such a crank, and that frustrates me. I try so hard to be a good mom, and really lay down the law. I feel like a failure when he talks back to me.

We had a great talk tonight though. I asked him what he would like me to do when he argues with me. And he said he would like to go this room and be quiet for a moment. Not that I hadn't been sending him there, but this put the control in his hands. And oh he does love to be in charge (no idea where he gets that :rolleyes:). Anyway, then he initiated it himself tonight and I heard him say: that is not fair! I am not playing with you anymore!

But then he came out and gave me a hug and was all better! I told him I was so proud of him, and we spent the rest of the evening reading books together before bed. My baby is back! Phew.
 
Orange juice and vodka, please. To help with my sore throat. (Mainly vodka in that, I might add.)

I'm mesmerized by the little icon...

Cava and prosecco are great cheap alternatives. One of my favorite Cali sparklers is Roederer estate. Very dry. Not too sweet.
