NBC to US troops: DROP DEAD!

NBC has a policy of no political ads. If they took out the link to the right wing website, NBC would happily have run it. If this was really about a thank you to the troops, why not remove the addy and run the ad? But it was blatant right wing politics playing on the sacrifice of US soldiers for political ends. Who is it that hates the troops again?

We have a winner!

As with most of the Right wing's umbrage, it's entirely of their own design.

Yeah, isn't it odd that these same butt heads won't even try to run an ad prodding the US Government to bring back all those missing Vietnam POW's, or at least their remains? Ever notice how bringing up that issue makes them shut up?

Nope, not at all, but it does say a little about the courage of their convictions.

Convictions? What like exploiting dead soldiers for political gain? Those kind of convictions?

The fact that they (NBC) have reviewed and changed their policy to allow the ads now does not reflect on their past record of denying ALL politically motivated commercials. They were and are being accused of partisanship when that is the furthest thing from the truth.

If this were truly "about the troops" then the web site in question would have just removed the link to their site and been done with it. The fact that they didn't, and instead tried to slander NBC speaks volumes about what this was really about and exactly who was playing partisan games.

You didn't answer mine.

NBC changed their policy on political ads. Hardly a "conviction." But you think it's OK for a bunch of millionaire Republicans to use dead American soldiers for political gain. Shows where your priorities lie, doesn't it?

We all know that National Bullshit Corporation has been anointed by liberals and is next to God when it comes to fairness and principle...so why did they change their mind?

You're missing the point. NBC had a policy of airing no political ads. Unless you can show evidence that they did so for some people (They have a liberal agenda! *Squawk!*) and refused conservative ones you have no actual bitch.

The real issue here is the Conservative web site that refused to remove their address from the message to the troops. It wasn't about the troops, it never was, otherwise they would have complied with NBC's guidelines like everyone else does rather than make a big stink about nothing.

The only people playing partisan political games here was the web site in question, Conservatives again using the "troops" as cover for their bullshit partisan games.

So if a bunch of millionaire Democrats use those same dead American soldiers to campaign to pull the troops out of Iraq that is isn't for political gain?
