I assume that you are fooling around and not serious. Boston along with so many other places in New England is named after the original town of Boston in Lincolnshire, England.

Yes of course it was named for and English place but culturally it became Irish. Boston had such large population that I once met a mission priest born here before WWIi who had a brough.

Yes, indeed. Even Plymouth, MA has a very large Irish population.

Boston is in England. It's a charming market town.

That Yanks have named some American city full of 'Irish' ancestry people after it is neither here nor there. They have zero claim to the name.

In fact, the only possible 'authentic American' place names are those which may trace their origin to native American roots.
