I worry that so many civilians will be killed. Columbia will be inundated with refugees fleeing significant fighting or lawless unrest. Maduro needs to go. Maria Corina Machado should be voted in. Leopoldo Lopez' return will be a huge event.

Columbia is ALREADY overrun with Venezuelan refugees, so many that Columbia is now unstable.

I agree re. Machado but Gonzales was the one elected.

The Monroe Doctrine is singing the US established for parts their foreign affairs. Operation Condor was the name given by different South American intelligence agencies. The FBI and CIA assisted the operation the help the fascist regimes they installed. I know the difference between both. But it's pretty apparent that the person mentioning the Monroe Doctrine has no fucking clue.

Stats show that almost everyone with a below average IQ thinks they're above average. Conversely, most highly intelligent people don't think they are.

Most of the trolls here believe they're supreme being level brainiacs. Which tells you exactly where they fit on the IQ scale.

So, while the Monroe Doctrine wasn’t originally about Soviet or Chinese communism, it was later used to oppose those influences and justify interventions, covert operations, and support for regimes fighting communist insurgents. This Cold War adaptation shaped much of U.S. policy in Latin America during the 20th century. Those same sentiments drive present-day policies as well.

Anyone that is a student of history knows that the continental powers of Europe and Asia are nothing but trouble. They bring their family feuds with them no matter where they go. And THAT'S what the Monroe Doctrine is about, nothing to do with political philosophies per se'. It's about keeping the fucking continental powers out of our region no matter what their politics.
