It's no secret that the name of the game is regime change, Maduro has been given NO alternatives. Ironic that Iran has offered him sanctuary but his good buddies Russia and China haven't.

So why all the military power? Well, Venezuela's duly elected president, Edmundo Gonzalez, will be installed and he will immediately request US aid in cleaning out Maduro's buddies in the government, military, and police. The US will provide a stabilizing entity until Gonzalez can form his new government and effectively establish control. What follows from there is most likely a long an profitable relationship between both nations.
