Most of us care about kids, but we can't do much for the kids living in dystopian hellholes, especially in other states across the nation. Parents are unemployed or underpaid, schools are more prison than education, homeless camps are everywhere, etc. So we learn to ignore all that and react only to the shootings. If it bleeds it leads.
