What are you watching?

The wife wants to see the new Wicked when it comes out, but I (made sure) didn't see the first one. So, she has asked us to watch the first Wicked tonight...maybe I'll enjoy it...

Short Film featuring one of the last Lancasters still active, which I’ve seen.

Revisited a couple of movies today:

First, Olympus Has Fallen, a very worthy action thriller with Gerard Butler as the Alpha Male. Believable? Who knows about White House security. Fun, brutal, with lot's of killing. I'm in.

Next, a long overdue third watching of Peter Jackson's masterpiece King Kong. For my money, it should have been Best Picture, but it wasn't even nominated. For what's basically a 'monster flick' this film has tons of heart that blends right in with the excellent non-stop action.

Naomi Watts gives an excellent, but fairly overlooked performance. She is the one that breathes true life into this production.

A couple of movies.

First viewing of Playdate, a silly 80s style piece of idiocy that was still fun, with its blend of action and dumb-ass repartee between Kevin James and Alan Ritchson (TV's Reacher). Plot holes you could sail the Gerald R. Ford and its entire carrier battle group through. Goofy fun.

Next, a second viewing of disaster flick 2012. I was much more impressed now than when I first watched it. Great effects from a master, director Roland Emmerich, and a whole lot more heart than I remember. This ain't your father's 1972 Poseidon Adventure.

I'm partway through a two video examination of "King Crimson: Artists Who Changed Music". I like the history and tidbits, but I disagree with the presenter - Warren something? about the album Red. It's literally the only King Crimson album I didn't like, yet he thinks it's the epitome of the band. Nope.

I feel this way every time a stupid article rates Queen albums... Rest in Peace Freddie (anniversary of his passing today😥).
