You're so weird

That's not so weird.

Really? Seems like everyone I know think's I'm weird because of my disdain for tomato's. I actually have issues with several different food items, and its as much about texture as it is taste. Olive, mushrooms, eggplant...don't feel right in my mouth, so they no longer go in there. Well, except for mushrooms. I'm really trying to make those happen. But they have to be chopped up real small.

I've never actually been drunk or high. Despite my dislike of most drinks alcoholic, I have a surprisingly high alcohol tolerance.

However! It does mean that my eyes adjust quite rapidly to changes in light. So I don't suffer blindness when going inside on a bright sunny day, nor does the light suddenly going on hurt my eyes.
You are part cat!

Textural dislikes is a thing. My youngest can't stand any chunks in his ice cream or yogurt. Which is sad because his favorite flavor of both is strawberry. But it's so hard to find strawberry ice cream/yogurt that doesn't have chunks in it. And yes, he loves to eat fresh strawberries as well.

Your son and I are then kindred spirits!

My wife loves blueberries but hates literally anything blueberry flavored.

Well, most blueberry flavored things don't have any actual blueberries in them so that makes sense. Also, blueberries and blueberry flavor aren't exactly the same.

I like real grapes, I hate grape flavoring. I love cherry flavored things, I can't stand actual cherries. I love watermelon flavored candies and juice, I think any actual melons are meh.

Sometimes they get it both right and wrong at the same time. Like my roommate loves banana flavored candy, but she does not like actual bananas. But apparently the banana flavor is exactly like the bananas that were around when they first developed it. Just there was a banana blight that all but killed that variety off and so now it's really hard to find in America.

I think people are way too concerned about germs. Germs are everywhere. Our bodies are full of microorganisms, little invaders. It's good for us to be exposed to germs.

I think everybody should go on a week long backpack trip in the wilderness at least once in their lives. You get to experience living dirty for a week. It's good for you.

I prefer liquid drunk from the edge of a glass to drunk through a straw. I think it's more pleasurable that way. Damn the germs.
My daughter is a doctor and agrees with you...not that doctors always know what's best. She raised her kids that way: "For God's sake, go outdoors and get dirty, it's good for you."

I love watermelon and bananas, can't stand the same flavored candies. Funny.

You should move to the Seattle metro, you'll never be dry again🤣
It does not rain as constantly in Seattle as it used to. o.o
I can vaguely taste it. Somewhere between almond extract, which I'm allergic to, and cyanide. Both of which are related to cherries'
Yeah, it's a very strong flavor for me though, so it always lights up the poison detection center in my brain which blares out alarms to spit it out right now!

I like almonds though, but only fresh almonds. If the almonds have gotten too old they get that same bitter taste to them that has me noping out.

100% cocoa is fine though!

One of my friends told me they could no longer trust me, because anyone who puts ketchup on eggs, must have a sinister hidden life.
XD I had some long talks about it with my SO before I did it the first time around him, because he used to be one of those people who thought if you were putting ketchup on eggs it meant you didn't like the eggs. Nope, I just like ketchup and eggs. A mayo, ketchup and egg sandwich is divine btw.

And I know, someone's eye is twitching because of the way I spell ketchup, instead of catsup, but we gave up on the proper spelling years ago in the U.S.
It's ketchup, printed right on the bottle.

Heinz or Hunts? And, yes, it makes a difference...

Kind of like Hellman's or Kraft with mayo.

When you were just a youngster, I would go to Seattle regularly (my wife ran a lot of training sessions for Boeing engineers in the 80's, often staying for two weeks at a time and I would fly out during the middle weekend). At least once when I was there, they were in a drought. Historically, it doesn't rain that much over the summer, but A LOT over the winter. Overall rainy days, it's not that much worse than the Northeast (US).

Interesting. I do taste that, both for cherries and almonds, I just don't mind for some reason.

My sister doesn't like specifically warm/hot tomatoes.

Where I'm from ketchup is quite common to put on many things, so I've always found the pseudo-religious aversion to it you see online a bit strange.

If it makes you feel better, I love tomatoes and I loathe tomato based pasta sauce. (But due to outside influences. Food poisoning can kill the love of specific foods when you've thrown them up enough.)
