That's a very workable opening for a story. It isn't a whole story. Does the main character learn to love Carla? That's a Romance story, or Mature. Does Carla get jealous and become a stalker? Is the ex-wife become furious when she finds out her ex is seeing a pretty young thing and try to ruin their lives by seducing him back? Could be Loving Wives. Does the daughter get jealous and try to seduce her dad, and it becomes an incest story, but then Carla still wants him?

Or, does the daughter get jealous and seduce Carla herself, and it becomes a love triangle?

Did the daughter send Carla to Daddy because she also finds Carla boring in bed, and just wanted to make her go away without being cruel? Then it could be Humor.

Yes Carla (not real names) my step daughter, like her mom, my MLIF Mother-in-law was the first and introduce me to my future wife. The assertive personalities from family.
