Another speculation about what is going on with Literotica

This is me not responding to you or the bait you are dangling.
It wasn't a MLB promotion. It was a promotion by one individual team, owned by a guy who had a reputation for wild and crazy promotions. That's a significant factor, and there is no evidence it was fueled by bigots and homophobes. It was fueled by people who hated disco. These are NOT the same things.

I would miss Literotica if it disappeared.

That's what worries me too.

There are so many odd things happening in recent times, such as inconsistent story approval times with some taking a number of weeks to be posted with other stories in the more standard several days as they always were. If there were reasons for delayed approval, such as greater scrutiny for AI or increased problems with writers trying to sneak forbidden content through, there hasn't been any notification of such by site administrators.

And yet paradoxically, there seems less care in making sure that stories are posted in the correct categories in the last few months. I know that some stories could fit into two or more categories, and you always get complaints from readers that your story is in the wrong category, but some are so blatant that you wonder how they got through.

Huh. Sorry to have poked this bear, Millie. I never in a million years would have thought of disco having any particular ethnic component. It was... speaking as a musician, pro at the time... just gawd-awful musically, much of it formulaic and overproduced. Just like most country/western. And pop.

That said... Dancing Queen is now in my head, and won't be dislodged until orchestra rehearsal tonight. What hath God wrought?

Is there a good cover of Dancing Queen? Serious question.

There's also no evidence that this is what caused anyone to start disliking disco. What's far more plausible is that this promotion was a reaction to disco's popularity already seeing a backlash.

Not that I've heard. The original ABBA version is all I know... lurking in the underworld of my unconscious... always ready to surface... sigh...

There's got to be an elevator version. I just know there is.

I'd have thought after the Mamma Mia thing, someone would have taken a stab at it.
