I haven't had any issues here (Forum) except in Politics Board, and I just don't go there anymore. Some trouble in the past in Chat. Agree that most people on Lit aren't like that

We - at least here in the U.S. - have wandered far from the path of human fellowship. For years now, tribalism has given people permission to demonize the other. Be that POC, immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, or woke coastal elites on one side. Deplorables, slack-jawed yokels, Nazis, or cryptofacists on the other.

We need to get back to the middle ground of people who may disagree on some things, but agree on others, and view all humans as worthy of respect.

And I think many of our current divisions are driven by those who seek to profit from them. Both left and right are being manipulated by those with more money than you and I could imagine.

At present it’s not just OK to hate, it’s glorified. Somehow we need to find a way to love again.

Crossdressing and Transgender got split into separate things, and NonConsent/Reluctance got renamed Reluctance/NonConsent (I'm pretty sure that happened, anyway). I think that last one was a minimum-possible attempt to discourage people from just writing straight-up rape stuff that violates site rules.

They should also change Exhibitionist/Voyeur to Voyeur/Exhibitionist.

Just to be consistent.

Longstanding policies are no longer being enforced. I naively wandered into Politics Board and was blasted with racial insults and abuse ("knee grow," "lips like a flat tire," "black cunt "). I reported these and got no response. I escalated and got no response. Others told me not to bother, "nobody cares anymore."

These are just a couple of examples. The site feels like it's crumbling.

That's fucked up. This is should be a safe space.
