The link leads to some VERY early attempts at black and white. I'm trying to remember but I think we'd not long bought a decent digital camera....would've been a Pentax K10.
I set up a regular outdoor spotlight or two on a timber stand about six feet in height and adjusted the light (s) by holding them in place with woodworking clamps. Not very elegant but it did the trick.
It was all so new. We both enjoyed the process, and over time improved here and there, learning new techniques. In later studio type pics I bought some remote flash devices which gave a very good effect...they went off at the same time as the camera.......I still don't know how exactly but they worked well. Don't have them anymore BUT I still have the first primitive lighting set up! and it still gives a good result when needed.
