I’m so old I remember…

I’m so old I remember watching porn on one of these.

I'm so old I remember this is a cutting station for 8mm or super-8 films to edit. The small installation on the "cutting table" in the middle was to cut and glue snippets. On the two arms left and right you had the film-rolls, you could reel forth or back, manually. You wouldn't want to watch a film on that screen, porn or not, no proper viewing speed and the picture quality was lousy

It was what I had back in the day. Watching porn was a challenge back in the early 80s

I don't remember this DVDs but I do remember the milkman. You would wash the bottles and return them.

My Great Grandmother told me that when milk was delivered at her back door, in the cold weather the paper cover would pop off and a cat in the neighborhood would come by and lick the cream of the top of the bottle. She didn’t care as she loved cats. 🐱

My first mobile phones were groundbreaking but had little stumpy aerials that got broken off way too easily.

That was our first cell phone, got it in the very early 90’s? Got it from Incredible Universe, who was trying to compete with Best Buy and Circuit City. I am still using the same telephone number now.

I don’t remember all these phones but I do remember the Circuit City red towers. I bought my Dad all the seasons of King of Queens for cheap before they closed for good.

I remember when Blockbuster first opened a store in town.

I remember Modem Mating Calls on dialup.

I remember BBS (and later, internet) links getting cut when someone called while you were dialed in.

I remember a tin car coming out of a Crackerjack box.

I remember before circuit city and before Best Buy. We had this store in our small town laid ours a lot like Best Buy. Tarts Super Store. You could finance a tv or vcr with monthly payments with transouth or mba. It was so long ago the drop dead gorgeous blond behind the counter hadn’t got fat yet.
