Catfish and Fake posters

new account but long time member of the forum.

I felt a need to start and honest and open discussion about the amount of catfish accounts currently on Lit Forums.

I’m fully aware this is linked to an erotica fiction site so we all have creative license but there are a lot of accounts posting images (stolen?) of themselves to boost their profile.

So do we think this is getting worse?
Do you believe that most of the ‘female’ posters on here are catfishing?
Who’s the most obvious fake account in your eyes?

I know of a handful of women who are 'real'. Other than that I would assume most are fakes to some degree. In fact most of social media is fake. The amount of AI spam increases every week.

Good question. LLM are pushing the boundaries for sure. Not on here, but it’s coming.

There’s a lot of real women on here though. Very sexy, honest, intelligent, caring women.

Just block the spam and don’t worry about it.

Now that's an interesting word....catfishing...those from the Midwest that know how to go catfishing understand. You throw out your bait....and tighten your line....and wait until something takes the bait. Now....if you throw out something as boring as a worm on a hook....sure....you might get lucky....but if you mix up some catfish dough bait....fuck...that's when you really catch the fish.

So if all you are doing is throwing out a worm....you ain't gonna catch anything worth keeping. Throw out something that makes you different from the other thousand fishing the same fucking hole.

Since I came back in September I have received maybe three or four unsolicited PMs from newish accounts that ask innocuous questions in awkward grammar.

I think that each one was somehow in the "textile industry."

Not sure if it a form of hog butchering coming to Lit, or just weird people finding their way here.

Those are the fake accounts that I seem to find (or that seem to find me)

It really does depends on the species. Some catfish prefer live bait, so you'd typically use (legal) smaller bait fish. Stinky cut or live bait is generally good for multiple species. The stinkier the better in some cases, cause they can smell it through the water. When I've made homemade bait in the past, I used sardines.

A new account but not new to Lit. In fact I’ve been on Lit years, but felt to protect my main profile and my history I didn’t want to start calling out the fakes via that profile

I’ve never trusted any ‘woman’ that messages me directly after one or two comments in a thread.
But weirdly - I have had a conversation with a woman on here also in the ‘textile’ industry
