You said it far better than I did.PM me if you want a second pair of eyes.
Do you have an ideas about how this is going to happen? How much story are you dedicating to it? How much set up have you done for it?Moving from client relationship to being asked out on a date.![]()
Ok can I ask a friend who is in the business. I know this has happened to her.Moving from client relationship to being asked out on a date.![]()

I appreciate it I really do..The answer I got back is not going to help much. But her exact words were “she doesn’t let it happen.” From other conversations I have had with her I think what she means by that is she stops seeing them professionally and cuts all ties. Her business model is she is doing a job, that and romance “The pretty women scenario” doesn’t work as the man gets all up in her business trying to stop her doing what she is very well paid for.
Frustrated … I have hit a wall and am just stuck on a transitional scene … nothing makes sense. Ugh!
That’s actually kinda a good - and relatable - approach. Is it from out of the blue? Those are always hard to write. Some judicious foreshadowing or setup dialog would help.
I've had characters make this transition often; often it's because they're thrown together unexpectedly, they work through something together, and then unwind with a coffee. Presto: they're on a date, and the reader realizes it the same time the characters do.
Looking forward to those here! After discussion with my editor/Alpha/Beta reader, I decided to skip the Winter Contest and write for the V-Day contest.
The story was really a V-Day story that I was forcing to put into a holiday story.
So watch this space for my silly comments and questions to come!
