part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

He sighs at the question as he moves to join her on the couch, “I have seen mods cracking down on people playing in publi threads that don’t have titles warning people what they might see in the therad. This place might be an exception as what you say is this is on the srp board, but should I desire to play on the boards again I’m likely to do it in spirit song not here.” He smiles, “Because last time I checked they couldn’t forbid me to fuck in my own home.”
He lets his hand come down on her foot, shifting her legs into his lap, fingertips idly stroking over them. “No need to apologize, we all kinda come and go as we are able.” He grins a bit, “I hope they were nice dreams.”

She grumbled and wiggled around, "fucking assholes," she laughed, free and delighted. "Tell me how you really feel."
She snuggled into the corner of the couch, wiggling her toes and stretching herself into a warm languor.

Smiling like a lazy cat, she purred, "Extremely nice dreams, I woke up comfortably tingling and very warm."

So far, Glad. It looks like the hubby and I have bought a house.
"Congratulations!"

“I dunno there just seems to be more cracking down on flirting i some boards when that’s always been a staple of lit. Apparently some people get there feefee’s hurt.” He snorts. “Dreams are nice, I had this one recently… well I definitely enjoyed it.” His hand smooths down her lower leg to her foot.

I haven't heard anything, but trying to be positive. To many people have ghosted me from this place or simply moved on.

He wanders in and takes a seat on a sofa by the fire. The fire sooths the ache from the cold that he’s not yet used to.

Congrats! And congrats again! May your closing be unencumbered, your move be eventless, and your life in the new abode be joyous. Be sure to sweep out the old demons before you bring in a single piece of your own stuff.
From your lips to the Universe's ear, Tio. Right now, it's paperwork, paperwork, paperwork.

Oh, I've been through the place. No old demons there. If there were, I'd see to them for sure.

"Congratulations!"
Thank you, Nina. 😁

She hung up her clipboard and grabbed a cup of coffee, seating herself behind the bar and sipping thoughtfully. In the midst of everything going on, her heart ached for CG.

Thank you, Glad and you're right. It's been less than ideal but we're thankful. Now to get through the waiting and the paperwork.

“It’s own hell I’m guessing,”
He strides to the bar and pores himself a glass of a sparcling drink, that looks suspiciously like grape juice.

He lifts his glass, “To you and drifter. May you enjoy your new home. I sadly am still rentig because I don’t know how to save money worth a shit.”

She hobbles into the inn on crutches, dodging a pair of cats that seem more intent on tripping her than anything else.

With a sigh she sinks into the closest chair, her sprained ankle propped onto the ottoman, with an array of ice to bring down the swelling.

The cats check out the ice and decide that her lap is a warmer spot to curl up in.

“Ello… it has been a while.” She greets the denizens of the Pearl. “DW, congratulations on that home purchase! That’s a great milestone! I wish you a smooth closing!”

“Evening Glad. Tis good to see you here. Could I trouble you for some tea? I think Phoo Ming kept a stash hiding in the second cubby to the left.” She smiles and pauses, “And maybe a hug for old times sake?”

He smiles, “Of course.” The elf wanders to where the tea pot keeps its warm water. Poring a cup full, he carefully selects some tea leaves for her in the holder.

He moved to her, cup in hand. “You are always more than welcome to a hug my dear,” and setting the cup down on the small table beside her he leans over, her, hugging her close, face naturally going into the side of her neck as they hug. “It is really good to see you here.”

There’s a gentle peck on his cheek. “I heard of CG being out…? I thought to stop in and leave well wishes on a swift return”

She accepts the cup and takes a sip with a sigh. “Thank you. For the tea and making the time. I see you’ve been quite busy with writing. I really am enjoying that tryst with Eli and Lilly”

“I just realized that when put together they sound like the pharmasudical company.” He chuckles. “Yes It is fun to write here again. One day I hope our story can resume there was so much potential there. we did so much world building.” He sits beside her propped up foot on the stool before her turning to face her as they talk. “I wish I knew more about CG, I do hope he’s well. He is such a part of this place.”

He lifts his glass, “To you and drifter. May you enjoy your new home. I sadly am still rentig because I don’t know how to save money worth a shit.”
Glad, we rented for 11 years. So, I get it. I'm still in a daze that this is even happening. It's always been Dryfter's dream to own his own home. Now, we have the ability to make that happen.

She waved at VT.

"Thank you and long time no see, stranger. What happened to you? Can I bring you something to drink, VT?"

"Oh! I see that Glad is on top of things. Yay! I'm working through quotes and paperwork today. Yes, CG is out with health issues. I heard from him yesterday and I'm not sure he'll be coming back, but one can hope."

She laughs at the mention. “You know I had to go scroll back and reread that before I realized that yes! That is big Pharma right there! Is this the prelude to how Eli Lilly was formed?”

She rests a hand on his. “I’ll be honest. I’m not writing with people. It’s not you. It’s me.” She takes a sip of her tea before continuing. “I’m not consistent enough to take partners. Both life and muse are uncooperative in that regard. That’s just unfair to anyone I write with”

“The writing you see right now…” She trails off and her voice lowers a bit, “Well it’s weirdly tied to my period. My libido spikes with no outlet and it results in some sort of long winded scene I am compelled to write. Once the week is over, I completely lose interest in the scene.”

She shrugs a bit. “I spend the next few weeks cleaning up the brain dump from that week and it’s what you’re reading.”

She sighs. “CG is the heart in the Pearl. He’s been the constant over the years in Lit and this place has been that refuge of playful banter and chatter. Yes us patrons bring something of ourselves in too, but you’re right. He is so much of this place”

She waved at VT.

"Thank you and long time no see, stranger. What happened to you? Can I bring you something to drink, VT?"
“Glad kindly helped me there! Here’s to hoping CG returns!”

She points to her foot with a grimace. “Past me decided to sabotage future me by leaving shoes right under the step into the garage. Tripped over that and rolled an ankle. Just sprained. Not broken but I’m grounded for a month and need to stay off it for a few days before it’s allowed to be weight bearing.”

"Ouch! As someone who use to regularly turn her ankle, you have my sympathy, VT."

“I think I waited like 4 years once for a post from dark empress, some people are worth waiting for, if the time is right we will revisit our story or write something else together.” He twines his fingers with hers for a moment. “We all write what we can, I’m glad you’ve found some muse even if it seems to be different than before. I almost laughed at the it’s not you it’s me, because it sounds like a cliche breakup line, but I do appreciate that, even if I know it isn’t me. We’ve both gone through a lot these past few years.”

He grows more contemplative, “There’s been periods CG was away for even years, but his spirit was always there, I hope if he does not return this time that we can keep this place alive, keep his memory in the space.”

"Oh! I see that Glad is on top of things. Yay! I'm working through quotes and paperwork today. Yes, CG is out with health issues. I heard from him yesterday and I'm not sure he'll be coming back, but one can hope."

“That sounds dire Cait. I hope he’s ok, but it sounds like he’s not. Also, here’s to hoping I don’t have to rent for another 10 or 11 years.”
