Bagels and coffee for the denizens of the diner

I organized a volunteer event for work. I got up super early to get coffee and a bunch of bagels.

About 100 volunteers picked 11,000 pounds of potatoes and 15,000 pounds of turnips. All go to people who are struggling with food insecurity (ie, they can’t get or afford fresh food.)

Last 2 pans of pumpkin brownies i the oven.

3 pans for tge church chili cook off at the end of the street
1 pan for the workers at trick or trest for tge village
I will be attending all events

Also...
Last load if 4 loads laundry in, garbage out to the trash, dishes done (just need to make the frosting and do thise dishes)

That’s the same procedure they did on my mother. That cement (that’s what they call it) mixture. Hope the Good Doc is on the mend and she doesn’t get some crazy ideas on the Oxy like crawling out of 4 foot windows like my momma did…

Yeah. She's on the 7th floor where she lives. I made some calls today following up on what I done learnt yesterday. The first place isn't likely to take even if she applies and it's a year out anyway. They referred me to the senior living equivalent of a headhunter. I called them and they called back promptly. The advisor emailed me after 4 to arrange a chat Monday at 0900. I begged off and asked for Tuesday after 1030. She said 1100 and confirmed it all. After 1900. Really?

I knew they were good friends and had seen vids of her performing with LF in the late 70’s or early 80’s after they were famous. I didn’t know about this album till this morning searching the Oracle of All Knowledge (UToob) and found it! I’ve been listening to it as we speak!

PS…as much as I love Tedeschi Trucks…I was more excited to see Little Feat (don’t tell SWMBO)….partly because I’ve seen TTB several times, but mostly because LF was THE soundtrack of my youth! So so grateful they’re carrying on. If you get a chance to see them, again, don’t hesitate…they’re fantastic still.

I have only recently started listening to LF. I had four woulda been frat brothers killed in a single car accident way back when coming back to school from a LF concert road trip. That was my first mass tragedy in my life. I realized later that I had absorbed some of the drama from the other brothers and set aside my ambivalence to LF. I have a lot of their catalog on my phone now and it appears regularly in shuffle mode.

I can’t say I know too much abt bourbon other than I like it. I like some of the smaller distilleries.

Whenever I’m in Cincinnati, I usually bring something home. They used to have this really good bourbon store in the airport, but it was closed.
