part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

With the absence of the owner, Jack makes a few extra rounds about the place, making sure that the lights are on, windows and floors are clean, and preparing the garden for the fall. The bar is clean and well-stocked, and there are several coffee stations prepared for thirsty patrons who need a boost. The fridges are stocked with cold drinks, and Jack leaves the chef to his own devices. Then, eventually, Jack, with a large cup of house coffee, makes his way to the train set already converted to fall weather, with the fall leaves changing out the trees to the fall and changes to the merchants and trains. One small train is being loaded with jugs of cider, donuts, and wool blankets. That is at the freight station in a small village, Jack added recently to the layout. He does take time to trade out the statue of one of the town founders and moves it closer to the church. He replaces it with a small statue of Cgraven in appropriate maritime attire.

The elf sits by the fire, mug of cider in hand. It is a gloomy day, with sudden rain and clouds, but the fire crackles marily with the wood CG had previously split for the inn’s use. “Good morning all, and to those who live in the shadows.”

She came downstairs with a clipboard in hand, pausing at the base of the stairs.

"Good Afternoon, Everyone. I hope you all are doing well this Sunday. I ask for continued prayers for the owner of the Pearl. I don't have any specifics as to why CG is not here, but all good thoughts are appreciated."

Begins setting up electric white candles for the owner in the windows to let him know the light is always on, and we're thinking about him when he returns. A lot of cords and small projects along the way, but a good way to spend an autumn Sunday.

She came downstairs and slid behind the bar, checking on supplies.

"Jack! This is fantastic."

The weather's turning Autumnal chilly; time to heat and mull some wine for the upcoming days. Off to the spice rack, a large saucepan, a gallon of vin rouge de table. I'll have the mulled wine ready for a toast to cg's recovery, and then over to my wing chair by the window to catch up on some writing. I do owe a few RP responses.

He huddles under his cloak. His hands cradle rich hot chocolate he’d bribed from Phoo ming. “Hi all.”

She smiled as Tio settled in his chair to write.

"Hi Glad!"

She called out as she moved to toss another log on the blazing fire. It was cool outside today and the skies were darkening. Rain wasn't far away from happening.

“Afternoon Cait,” he waves to dw and smiles. “Seems a nice place to get warm. It’s sunny but chilly here.” He sips his chocolate with a smile.

The China Pearl has always been open to any who seek refuge, comfort, and friendship. It's the first place I found when I arrived on Lit nearly seventeen years ago. Cg, our valued host, has always been welcoming. I even found one fellow here who I met in real life when she came to my town for business. We had an enjoyable lunch and a tour of the city.

I too have met someone from lit that I first met in here. It is a place that I always visit when I come back here.

Gliding in, she removed her cape and hung it with all the others. Smiling, she looked around at the memories overlaid by the modern.

It's been a long, long time," she sighed.

Wandering to the bar, she scratched her head. She couldn't remember if the barkeep was hanging around or if she could make herself a drink and not get chased out.

the elf stands and glides to the bar. "Evenin Nina," he offers with a smile, "Whatt would you like? I think they've kept it real stocked."

I also got a message from him and hope he comes through whatever health problem is plaguing him 🥺🌹

She leaves a bouquet of wildflowers for the unkempt sea dog to recover later in a special vase embedded with sea shells and tiny anchors.

Miss him already.

Hello all, it's morning for me and we're apparently headed for a heatwave...have I mentioned that Spring isn't really a thing here? I'm getting robbed again

She smiled her greeting and hopped up on a stool.
"evenin"
Her smile grew a little bit... more as she took in his form. Fucking elves always made her want to nibble ears. She never did have a thing for any other type of ears. Just the fucking elves and their sensitive appendages. Shivering majestic creatures.
Taking a deep breath, she shook her head and grinned, "Sorry, lost in thoughts. I'll have a Long Island with grenadine instead of Coke, if you know how it's made, or a tequila sunrise if you don't."

He stepped behind the bar, hands moving gathering the ingredients. It had been a while since he’d stood back here, but there used to be a lot of nights with drinking in this inn. A few moments later he slid the long island across the bar to her, a smile twitching his lips. His other hand popping open a hard cider for himself.

Leaning on the bar he lifts an eyebrow. “Seems like you’ve not been here in ages. The inn remembers, though.”

Looking over all his details, she took up her drink and watched him while she sipped. Long Islands can be good or really, really bad. She quirked a brow, "cceptable. It's a lot better than I expected after a decade." Smiling, she added, "As are you."

He smirks, “The looks are cause elves don’t age much,” he winked a little, “and the attitude, people grow up or something like that.” He laughs a little.

She snorted a laugh into her drink and had to set it down. "You have definitely grown, darlin'," she carressed the silky sheen of the well-worn bar, "but you kept your sass and all the things that make you delightful."

I've managed to do a bit of catch-up on my RPs, but the lively bantering between glad and Nina has been distracting. Enjoyably so. I'm sure cg will be pleased to know the Inn is being kept so well.
