Electric cars.

dudly, it's NOT volts you have to worry about, it's AMPS.

A 1 million volts stun gun won't (generally) kill you because there's very little amperage in it. It's designed that way.

OTOH, 4-10 amps WILL kill you.

There are more than enough amps in a 12 volt car battery to do the job. The average car battery has 500+ cold cranking amps in it. A average battery pack has sufficient amperage too. For example, an 18v Ryobi lithium tool battery has 7 amp hours in it. That's nearly double the minimum required amperage to kill.

And of course now you want to deflect to the point that the warnings on batteries are supposedly to prevent explosion. They're not because they specifically warn against ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD but even if you're correct it's like you idjits believe being killed by an explosion is better than electrocution.

Honestly, you fucking turds are ridiculous.
Here you go! Read this rebuttal from an automotive expert:

"Simply put, voltage can be thought of as “pressure,” so while a car battery may technically have enough amperage to kill you, the paltry 12 volts DC simply doesn't provide enough pressure to push any significant amount of amperage through the contact resistance of your skin.

"That’s why you can touch both terminals of a car battery without receiving a shock, although you may feel a tingle if your hands are wet. Certainly nothing like the confession-inducing, potentially-deadly, electrical torture you may have seen in the movies or on television, though."

Guess Lawyers should stick to calling AAA for dead battery services...:giggle:

A stun gun at a million + volts won't kill you. 1 to 4.5 amps is enough to possibly drop you deaders. 10 amps will kill you.

Which only proves that YOU don't know shit about electricity.
^^^This is absolutely precious!

Harpy is the ultimate bullshit artist.

An Electrical Engineer (me) also informed him of this. He failed to understand, so don't expect him to reverse course on his stupidity and ignorance.

I wouldn't believe a word you said if you were a Boy Scout sitting in front of me making a fire.

I think you're about as "electrical engineer" as Uncle Fester on The Addams Family.

How much weight are you lugging in the trunk?
For quick fill-ups and copper thieves...

So you're a member of the "12 volt battery will electrocute me" club to eh... *chuckles*

No. I'm a, "there's something wrong with Canada, maybe the water or lack of electricity,"club member...

I'm sorry there is no Carbon based Water here in Canada. Maybe go visit HisArpy for your refill. Lots of electricity here though, in fact if we stopped sending it (Manitoba/Quebec interconnections) you'd find a good portion of the US would go dark.

Small minds cling to even smaller "victories."

I doubt if yours can ever be broadened. Is it the isolation of the tundra?

Will you be using pan pipes to signal traffic?

Twice on the pipes, means you ain't gonna go-o-o-...,

Interesting column by WSJ’s Allysia Finley about how young people are souring on EVs. Some snippets:

What does President Biden have in common with an electric car? For one, neither can go very far without a rest.
——-

A new survey by consulting firm McKinsey & Co. finds that 57% of American millennial electric-vehicle owners say they are likely to switch back to a gasoline-powered car. Top reasons include inability to charge EVs at home, difficulties doing so on the road, and the high cost of ownership.

——-

Insuring an EV costs on average $44 more a month than insuring a gas-powered car. Higher repair and component costs are partially to blame.
——-

An Anderson Economic Group study found it’s cheaper to fuel most gas-powered cars than it is to power EVs.
——-

EVs lose their resale value more quickly than gas-powered cars, partly because their batteries are more easily damaged and degraded.
——-

Over the past year, prices for used EVs have fallen by 30% to 39%—about 10 times as much as used gas-powered cars.

Trumps new “bit”
An electric truck would have to stop 7(?) times
Now? A diesel truck can go from LA to NY(?) in one shot!!
(Looking for the clip of “clean” video)
Trump is a fucking genius!!
Clean Video
Vs.. deep fake.., or cheap fake

Ex-Ford CEO, tells some hard truths.

The money shot:

Still, for Ford and its peers, the lesson is clear: success in the auto sector depends on listening to American drivers who value reliability, affordability, and choice. Ignoring that foundation could lead to more costly adjustments down the road, at a time when bolstering domestic industry matters most.

Ford guy, who is hurt by the EV market because his EVs suck, explains why he doesn't like EVs
I thought the Lectric Bogaloo 150 was selling well?

The point, which you obviously missed, is that the automakers…ALL of them, need to listen to their consumers.

If you want a Tesla, by all means, go buy one. There is a market for that. If you want a V8 Mustang or a work truck like the F-150, then maybe that’s what Ford should have focused on…

Make sense?

Oh, and FTR…that quote was from the author of the article, not the Ford guy. If you dig deeper, his point (Ford guy) is the numbers don’t lie. Especially when the sunset of government incentives.

Tells me that you don't understand the EV market.

The point is that he's making a statement for stockholders

It does....you don't care about EVs.

The author of an article from "America First", obviously not a biased bullshit rag....👍

I understand the EV market well enough to know that outside of Tesla and maybe Prius, there hasn’t been much demand. There was initial excitement about the Lighting, but that seems to have waned. That could all change of course, but it doesn’t seem to be trending in your direction…

The EX CEO made this statement recently. Not sure if he’s talking to his stockholders as he’s long since flown the coop. The current CEO is crying the same tune. Basically EV’s aren’t standing on their own as they’re largely a niche market. You can poo-poo the source all you want, but ignoring the facts presented isn’t a good look. You are quite a contrarian though…

You did bumble into a truth. I don’t care about EV’s.

Neat.

Then I'm sure you can show the stats on that.

I don't have a direction.

Dude is looking for a new job.

That's obvious

You really seem to struggle with the simple things…

Had you been paying attention…You’re clearly not, but this has been all over the financial chats. It’s basically saying the same thing.

Let me guess…this isn’t a reputable enough source for you. As this article points out. There’s always hope.

Are government incentives for petroleum going to sunset too?

The US government incentivizes the petroleum industry and often differs responsibly for clean up and damage caused by petroleum production and consumption.

Tax payers pay for your V8 Mustang through heavy subsidies, and it’s definitely a tiny-penis subsidy issue. The 6-cyl eco-boost engine is lighter and can perform as well as the coyote V-8 engine featured in the GT while consuming less fuel. The only reason someone would want the v8 is because it shakes their little balls a bit harder when they rev the engine.

So yeah, the rest of the world pays the price for your vroom, you little pin-dicks.
