The Art of Getting Lit Laid

The Ones We Meet Along the Way

Sometimes we forget - we are more than the replies we never receive.
More than the conversations that fade mid-sentence, or the names that vanish into silence.
We deserve real people - not ghosts, not phantoms, not maybes.
We deserve to be loved, to be valued, to be seen.

But to find The One, we often have to walk through The Many.
And that can hurt.
Some doors open with laughter and close with confusion.
Some homes are warm but temporary.
Others never truly let us in.
And yet, each one teaches us something - about warmth, about silence, about what we can no longer settle for.

It’s easy to lose faith when kindness goes unanswered,
when you pour your heart into words and the screen stays still.
But please remember this - your worth isn’t measured by who replies.
You are already enough, even in the quiet.

So take your time.
Let the journey unfold.
Learn from the houses you pass through.
And when the right one finally opens,
when someone meets you at the door and says, “You’re home,”
you’ll understand why none of the others worked out.

Until then -
rest when you’re tired,
laugh when you can,
and keep your light on.
Someone out there is still finding their way to your door.

To those whose hands are now empty

Sometimes we meet people who feel like forever -
until one day, the messages slow, the warmth fades,
and we’re left holding air where a hand used to be.

If you’ve ever been there - confused, aching, wondering what changed -
this is for you.

The Hands That Hold Us Until

Not everyone who comes into our life is meant to stay.
Some are only here to hold our hand until the One arrives.

They teach us gentleness, patience, and sometimes heartbreak.
They help us learn what we need, what we cannot accept,
and how deep our hearts can go before breaking open into truth.

Sometimes, we wonder why the hands that once held us so lovingly
suddenly stopped doing so.
The warmth fades, the replies slow down,
and the hand that once pulled us close now seems to push us away.

We don’t understand. We ache to.
But sometimes, all that’s left is to start walking away -
because standing where warmth has gone cold
is to shatter your own heart again and again.

Those warm hands that have now turned cold -
their purpose was never to keep us forever.
Their role was to give us warmth, but only for a little while.
They were meant to be our stopover,
the gentle waystation on the long road home.
They were there to guide us,
not to keep us.

So painful as it is, one day we will understand -
it had to be that way,
so we could be led to where we truly belong.

If that happens to you, take my hand.
Follow my light.
I promise you - the best thing you can do
is to let go of those hands you’re still clinging to,
the ones that have turned to ice.

For only in releasing them will you find
The One who will not just reach for you,
but hold you as though you were always meant to be found -
The One who will welcome you with open arms,
and softly whisper, “You’re Home.”

Simply beautiful @Carmina24

The journey we all take molds us, informs us, transforms us and while we all start at different points our destination is generally one of attaining love, peace, compassion, understanding, and knowledge.

Whether you’re here to write, to read, or to connect - there’s a place for you. And if you’re open to finding a match, we can help craft a profile for you and post it in the Matchmaking thread, where real connections can begin.

So let’s keep our lanterns glowing - welcoming new souls, new stories, and maybe a few new heartbeats. The thread is alive, and so are we.

It is going to take some time to read, digest, and fully process all of the posts on this thread. I'm sure I will be contributing here after I take more of this inside and contrast it with my experiences on Lit. 👠

Great to have you back! Thank you for dropping by. Hope you find that we have been quite busy mischievous since your last visit 😊
Silly me, I think where i posted before was "The art of NOT getting lit laid," which i suppose is a parody title of this thrrad.

I had a LOT to contribute to that one, because I used to hang out in Chat. Lit Chat is notorious for producing a blizzard of pm's from people who are extremely good at not getting laid.
