If you are having a lengthy delay in publishing, please add the name of your story and when submitted here.

Did you notice the bug after resubmission?
Yes. My first submission date changed so I did not wait because the prior time it happened to me, my story was stuck in limbo for close to 3 weeks. I deleted after 4 days.
My second submission changed it date too so I deleted it immediately.
My 3rd submission was approved in 3 days and published in 4

PENDING STORIES AND AI REJECTION ISSUES - WHAT TO DO

AS well as the Pending Stories issues, any number of authors have had their stories rejected for alleged AI usage. WHatever Literotica is using to detect AI usage seems to be returning a lot of false positives and nobody has found any real solution to this.

Literotica has not been at all communicative on either of these issues - personally, I wonder to what extent Laurel and Manu are aware that these ARE major issues that are driving authors away to other sites.

My take on it is that while authors are not using AI, the use of tools such as Grammarly maybe be driving this - these tools all follow the same rules and recommend the same stylistic and grammatical changes which to a reader is quite noticeable. I dropped using these tools because of that -

I'd recommend three things
(1) Everyone who hits this issue Use the feedback option in your control panel
(2) Everyone who hits this issue Open a Bug Ticket
(3) EVERYONE who hits this false positive AI problem PM Laurel using a standard header - "Story Rejected due to false positive on AI Usage" or "Story has been in Pending for x days/weeks"

- a high volume of Feedback, Bug Reports and PM's all reporting the same issue will shine more light on the issue(s)
- I suspect part of the problem is a lack of awareness of the impact this is having (both the AI Rejections and the current issue with Pending Stories going into a Black Hole
- Complaining on the forums doesn'r achieve anything - the threads disappear quickly and I doubt Laurel or Manu browse the forums looking for issues
- In his last few posts Manu has highlighted using the Feedback form to report issues so I would suggest doing this for EVERY SINGLE OCCURENCE of these issues. THAT will get attention and ensure awareness of the impact

To do this go to your Control Panel, go to Help and select "New Feedback"
- I'd recommend using the same Feedback Subject - "Story Rejected due to false positive on AI Usage" and "Story has been in Pending for x days/weeks"
- For Feedback Tags, I'd suggest standardizing on "Critical System Failure" - both this issues are completely blocking authors from successfully submittimg their stories
- For Feedback Category - "Publishing YOur Work" is the obvious one
- For subcategory, "Story Submission" is the obvious one

AGAIN, I SUGGEST EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HITS THESE ISSUES SUBMIT FEEDBACK - this seems to be the Site's preferred option

Do this AND submit a Bug Report - link here: https://www.literotica.com/stories/quest/bugs.php?id=3

I do not see the feedback option when I click on help.

I am not ready to jump ship, I have too much vested with the stories I have posted here. I am going to try and ride out the storm.

It is frustrating that after posting stories for three years, this is the only glitch I have had ... so I feel fortunate, yet still frustrated.
Awesome. Not suggesting anything to anybody here. But I have tried everything, I have been waiting since last two months. I mean I had plot lines, foreshadowing everything planned, now I have forgotten it. I wrote maybe 30,000 words for a single story, literotica only published 3 chapters that is only 5000 words, I am hanging with 25,000 words. I can't hang myself with that much work. I am also not getting paid here or anything for being an author. I mean, all we need is a little bit of acknowledgment on this platform right. It is not YouTube.

Very sorry to hear 😢

Well, I woke up this morning with hopes and dreams of seeing my story Pending a publish date but to no avail. Going on day 3 🤷🏼‍♀️

The frustration is growing as this is the second time I am trying to submit this story.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but my Halloween story was kicked back as a suspected AI, which is the first time that has ever happened to me in the previous 120 stories I submitted. I replied kindly that I use spellcheck, but it was truly written by me. It was kicked back a second time and finally I went through line by line and rewrote was what could be suspected as AI.

It was published on the third attempt of submission. I don’t know if now I’m blackballed is that the problem? I would hope not.

Maybe it is time to look for another place and pull my stories from here

So sorry this happened to you.

I know (from convos with her) that Laurel has a white list of authors (which I’m on), but whether that is written down or in her head 🤷‍♀️?

At the risk of getting all conspiracy theory, if someone was trying to fulfil Laurel’s role for a period (for whatever reason) these types of issues might arise as a result if the process was essentially ad hoc.

Thanks Emily, the even greater frustration is Inhave sent in a New Feedback, a New Bug Report and a direct message to her and it’s crickets. I have only been here for three year, my first story published in Aug 2022 but damn it’s crickets on all attempts for assistance 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

I might be alone in this, but with my last 4 stories stuck in Pending .. I'm finding myself less inspired to write. I finally started a new story yesterday, but even today I'm not feeling the same motivation to work on it.

As far as I can tell, this site works by injecting ads into the eternal cycle of
author dopamine > reader horniness > author dopamine ... etc.

If part of that cycle isn't getting fed, you have to wonder what's going to happen. There's no Litpocalypse on the horizon, I don't think, but the site seems to be taking a hit.

I am with you, in the last three days I have written at most two para’s for the V-Day challenge

It’s the common experience at present. I last got a reply to a PM at the end of August. I know @ChloeTzang got a reply (or at least action) about her efforts to help out with the comps and events, but I don’t know of anyone else who has gotten a reply recently.

Do you think there is any advantage in pulling the story and trying to post it instead of attaching a document?

Or just ride it out a few more days?

I have no experience with attaching a document, I got stuck with posting text in the box. Deleting and starting with a clean submission works for some people, but there are counterexamples.

It's been over 1 month for me for one story. I uploaded a longer(24K word) story and left it for 3 weeks, with no luck...I then did the whole delete entirely and re-submit thing...another 11 days with no luck. I've just given it one last shot 3 days ago, but I have no real faith it's going to work.

I usually only upload one story at a time. But experimentally wondering if multi-chapter stories somehow get processed quicker than a new stand-alone . So I also uploaded a chapter 9 of an on-going story a fortnight ago, and that too just sat pending for 11 days, before I re-submitted it a few days ago.

I hate to consider posting on other sites, as this one has the most traffic, best layout/community etc...and other sites often have a word count or character count limit to uploads that make it extremely difficult to post a story in the way you want it to be read. But it is getting to the stage where looking for alternatives is becoming the only option.

Thanks, Emily. This is where Chloe was helping me with the HTML writing when I want stuff italicized or bolded or centered

I posted my story twice 2nd time on 10.10.2025 and still waiting...
Also some people say that clicking on story might send it back at the end of pending "line".
What if you just do CONTROL PANEL=>WORKS=>PENDING without clicking on certain story/its title? Does it send story back too or no? Imo it shouldn't but who knows.
Really that waiting is ridiculous and it doesn't encourage to write anything if you have to wait eternity for story to be published. If something is wrong with it then it should be sent back immediately with the added reason why. There should also be an info if anyone even looked at that story or no.

No just looking at your list of pendings does not reset the clock. If you just open the work, you risk inadvertently resetting it. Editing it is the way to reset you to the back of the line.
