The US has plenty of military bases in other countries around the world, treated as territory of the US for the purpose of law enforcement. Why do Americans get so uppity at the thought of equality?

There was a case in the UK where a service wife drove out of an air force base continuing on the wrong side of the road and killed someone. Instead of just admitting carelessness, she fled to the US and claimed diplomatic immunity thus escalating it to an international incident. If the base hadn't been a little part of the US in Britain she would have already been on the proper side of the road instead of doing a silly cross-over at the gatehouse.

I really don’t understand how this has to be partisan. We all see the same things. Trump is gifted a 747; Trump inks deal for new hotel; Qatar gets immediate approval for base on secure, USAF facility.

I’m not denying Qatar’s role in US foreign affairs and military operations, BUT they are extremely controversial in who they support, fund, and human rights abuses.

In any case how does this benefit the American people? Because it’s extremely clear how it benefits Trump and Qatar
