Happy International Lesbian Day! What's your favourite lesbian story or scene on Lit?

Oh wow😍 I love the sparkles this thread is bringing to my reading list.

There are so many authors I love being mentioned here, @THBGato, @JCMcNeilly, @SugarStorm, @Areala-chan and others. I want to add The Journey by @BrokenSpokes . An absolute gem that left me crying and thinking about it for days after reading.

I am unashamedly biased towards @redgarters ' The Woman in the Spare Room for obvious reasons but it's also just a damn great piece of sapphic fiction.
@redgarters, for Wake me up inside and The woman in the spare room, both of which broke me.
Thank you❤️ I'm humbled to get mentions here. I wasn't fishing, honest😵‍💫 (What's that fishing rod behind my back, you say? Well I'll be damned, how did that get there...?).
(Also, got confused between international lesbian day international lesbian visibility day… is today for all lesbians, regardless if they’re invisible or not?)
International Lesbian Visibility Day is April 26th, so today is for visible and invisible lesbians alike. 😎

I love seeing threads like this. I always come away with some wonderful ideas for my next read. Like many others, I find it difficult to choose just one story. There are so many amazing writers working in that category. That said, I'll never pass up an opportunity to promote @Areala-chan's work. If I were stuck on a deserted island, and I had but one lesbian romance to keep me occupied until a luxury cruise liner inevitably rescued me, I would have to go with her Chasing Cars. As with all her work, the story is deep, touching, and whimsical, but also doesn't shy away from touching darkness.

Happy Lesbian Day…

I have many favorite female authors here.

I originally got hooked on Literotica because of the story Hard Landing by @BrokenSpokes. A rich, well-written story that reads beautifully and eventually turned into a wonderful series.
The stories by @JCMcNeilly are also amazing, and I’m a big fan of @onehitwanda , my favorite story of hers is Damselfly.

There are so many other fantastic authors as well, and I still have plenty of stories left on my reading list.

I have never seen an invisible lesbian, but I guess that goes to follow.

🫥

I've mentioned it before in other threads, but if Lit was on fire and I could only save one story, it would be Zoe Miller's The Smell of Old Books, which is the story I've read more times than any other on this site. It hits so many different 'yes, please!' tingle-spots on my lesbian bingo card it's a miracle my leg doesn't begin thumping involuntarily halfway through. 😅

Also, all y'all who mentioned me in here for some reason? Thank you... 🫶

Several years ago I read a story by an author under the name Bashful Scribe. Story was about a student that falls in love with a female teacher. For the whole of her senior year she is pining for this teacher and trying to get close to her. Just before the end of the year, the teacher gives in and returns her affection. They have a brief but glorious affair before the teacher moves to another state. The MC finds out after the last time they make love. The teacher is leaving the next morning. Heartbreaking and beautiful.

Riddle of the Copper Coin by @Bramblethorn for the eponymous riddles, which are also poems, and for drawing from a mythology other than the usual European stuff.

Queen of the Roller Derby by @MelissaBaby for the immersive historical setting and the vivid description of a sport I had never seen (but felt as if I had played by the time I finished reading).

Discord by @Lydra for the depiction of an uncertain dominant female sadist. It's a rare perspective and she handles it really well.

Mistress Beatrix by @Jackie.Hikaru for managing to write a plausible (and lovely!) story that starts off with bumping into a woman in a bar who happens to be a pro domme with the tools of her trade in her briefcase. Many have tried. She (?) succeeded.

Bound to the Turnings of the Wheel by @Eisenloewe for...I don't even know how to describe this. Making some of the most graphically horrifying bits of wheel of time be sexy and fun? I'm really doing it a disservice. It's worth a read.

Kisses From Hell by @Xarth for leaning into the absurdity of a succubus romance and making it super sweet and cute and funny.

Apologies if this is too male-gaze-y. Looking back over this list, I have to admit that it's a list of good stories about lesbians, and that might be different than a list of good lesbian stories.

Shout-out to @THBGato for The Parting Glass. You know a story has a profound effect on you when you can go about your day and then, out of nowhere, it just comes back to you. Time and time again.

I love this thread  A lot of really good recommendations.

I will put her on a list if she doesn't fix me again.
Broken’s the new black. I don’t believe in happily ever after anymore. Part 2 is about death, despair, and everything in between; I’ll have you crying by the end of it. #certifiedheartbreak

I will find you and I will end you.

You almost made me cry just with this.
I will find you and I will end you.
At least it seems the knife will be bloody already when I get cut for the Woman in the Spare Room sequel... #smallmercies
