So we all know that if you write a hotwife/lovingwife story, that the reader will explode in his pants then blast your story. But I'm curious for those of you that write Menage:

do your fictional lovers wear condoms?
do they cum on the inside or pull out?

After stud #1 cums in the wife, what does she do after he's finished? Does she take a shower, or more?

Good evening my dear colleague. In this day and age the questions still remain as they did in the eighties at the peak of the AIDs panic. However, I think that we, as writers, generally tend to focus more on the fantasy and tend not to "muddy the waters" with too much foresight and reality. It is, in hindsight, probably somewhat irresponsible but we will usually assume that all necessary precautions have been addressed prior to the action in our tales being told.

There is, to my literary mind, very little mileage to be gained by writing a paragraph, or sentence in an otherwise productive paragraph, about our MCs pausing in the throes of passion to apply condoms. That, I suppose, is why our stories are presented as "fantasy" rather than reality. Of course, that's my simple take on the subject and doesn't mean it should, or will, be the approach of many of our dear colleagues.

Samuel had maintained his poise throughout, but now he just stared at me slack-jawed. I couldn’t help but giggle at his shocked expression, feeling a little better myself in the process.

“You mean…?” he finally said, a little hoarsely.

“I mean you stick your cock up my ass,” I interjected, “it’s not a complicated concept.” Having said it out loud, my anxiety reduced a little.

“I… um… well… have you, like, done this… um… before?” he stuttered.

“Yeah, once or twice, it’s fun,” I replied. “I assume that…?”

He shook his head.

“But you’ve had sex?”

This time a nod, then he blurted out, “Is this some kind of virginity thing?”

That made me laugh, “The poophole loophole? Nah! And that ship has definitely left. Actually it’s probably circumnavigated the globe at least twice.”

His eyes widened even further, but he went on. “But… don't we need, like, lube…?”

I was beginning to enjoy myself again. I rummaged in my bag and held up a black, plastic bottle. Quite a large black, plastic bottle. “Always have some on me.”

“At your parents’ house?” he asked, incredulously.

“Uh-huh,” I smiled. “Though not for use there, that’s one thing I won’t do.”

“One thing…” he echoed weakly. Suddenly another thought occurred to him. “And isn’t it… messy?”

I rummaged some more and found a rubber bulb with a thin plastic nozzle. Holding it up, I said, “If you are interested, I could, well, sluice a bit more. Are you interested?”

Samuel nodded, but seemed mesmerized still.

To write about condom use or not?

It depends on the story.

Most of my stories don't mention condoms, because they are just about the sex. Condoms would only detract from the build-up.

But I wrote in the condom protections in my stories about the brothel in my Book Club series. I've had enough negative comments on previous stories saying "The slut's going to die of STDs!", so I knew to address that issue to head it off.

And my latest story involves the guy hooking up with an Army nurse. She talks about finding "safe" partners. So, their later sex scene merely states that they "had sex, ... with condoms." They also mention it later when he's berating her, and she says she practices safe sex with strangers. His reply is that if he's not there, then he doesn't know what she's doing and she's just expecting him to trust her.

So, the use of condoms in the story is adding to the characters' tension in the build-up of the story, or it's to head off reader critiques (practicing safe reader sex).

I tend to mention condoms in passing. I've never written anyone having sex and pulling out.

Does anyone actually do that, since sex ed became a thing and people know it's crap as a method of contraception?

Think porn movies' is the only place where pulling out is performed

I do include condoms in stories where warranted. I upset a lot of readers when one broke during the protagonist’s first anal sex. If I’m writing realistically, then it’s a must between strangers hooking up, from a disease POV, even if the woman is on the pill.

In my gang bang stories, it’s always bareback, and I make reference to test results being shared in advance (contrary to porn, gang bangs are not spontaneous events). Anyone who worries about sloppy seconds in such a scenario is probably in the wrong story.

UPDATE: In my WIP Winter Holidays story, the FMC is pissed about using condoms for hook ups as she finds them uncomfortable for anal.

The ATM is also totally fantasy. Unless forced, no one would ever put it in their mouth after an anal penetration without an enema.

So we write fantasy where none of this is an issue. We give the reader the porn they see on their screens and we pretend that it is real. Reality is often ugly and imperfect. Fantasy solves these problems.

I am actually a little tired of the tropes I see too often here e.g. EE breast size, 10 inches dicks, endless erections, women who drip buckets because someone looked at them or called them a bitch, guys who don't cum until their partners does, etc.

I am actually thinking of writing a parody making fun of all these tropes. It will probably get very few readers and even more terrible ratings but it could make me laugh.

Not only would I read it, I'd give 5 stars for the idea alone

Yeah - in my college stories, it’s always bareback and testing unless my FMC encounters someone for the first time, then it’s condoms.

I left readers wondering whether Cassie, in Not Another Tentacle Monster Story, was pregnant by her TM (or more likely Jim's TM, but that s another story - Not Another Loving wives Story.
The pregnancy is one reason i have never gotten to chapter 3. I did enjoy Cassie's world. Hard to believe that I visited it way back in 2021 & 2023. Due again in 2025?

Mine are gendered, but can morph into anything, including different genders, and futanari. I have a male giant octopus and a female colossal squid. The male octopus likes morphing into the FMC’s shape so she can make out with herself. Another character might become a shape-shifter later, but again [SPOILERS]

Well it doesn't fit the narrative I'm telling? The point isn't the TM, it's the relationship between the succubus and the MC. The TM I thought would be a funny add in as a pet for the succubus. Oh for the record the MC is bi. Anyway he/ it does/ will play an important part of the story.
