Last I checked, she's a genius of a businesswoman. AND it probably is helping Charli xcx, too, and from the few things I read - she's also had her as an opener on concerts so it's almost as if she wants to help boost a fellow musician, too.

I got the same feeling. I'm a fan, but not a superfan. I like her music a lot, and I've been happy that she's had the level of success that her talent and dedication.

But there was a tone to what I listened to so far that felt a little ... out of step from a young billionaire artist on her private jet with her Super Bowl fiancee and movie star besties.

Okay I listened to the album today while I was writing and it's pretty good (the album, I mean). There's some depth that you have to listen for. Will people react to it? It's there but you have to give it a chance. Or maybe I just want it to be there and heard what I want to hear.

It’s back to her pop stylings. Max Martin (who had a cameo in one of my recent stories ) producing, and it sounds like it. Fate of Ophelia is very pop, as is Opalite (which I saw described as a vocabulary test - onyx and opalite? Really?). I found Elizabeth Taylor to be way too on the nose and clearly about herself and not the actress.

Have only listened up to Actually Romantic as yet.

"Vespertine" (where this comes from) is my all-time favourite album, with its complexity, its gorgeousness, and its sexiness. I once did a 1000 km (600 mile) drive to a meeting, straight down the highway in a day, with that album playing on auto-repeat. It kept me going.
