Also, NFL has been playing a game or two each season in Mexico and Brazil for some time in an effort to expand its reach.

Waste of time and money. It's cheap to buy a soccer ball and make a goal. Gearing up for football on the other hand... You have to start them young. Latino schools in SA don't have the money.

But I seriously doubt the NFL selected him because of his political views. They selected him because they believe it will help expand their audience.

The owners are all billionaires. They like making money.
