Story lengths and story-telling content for the Literotica audience

If your story is very long, you could consider breaking it up into a series.
That’s something I’m considering as well. I’m working on the story now, and I think I’ll end up at around 85,000 words. But if I split it into two parts, there’s always the chance people won’t read the second one.

I’ve already written two series, and I’ve noticed that the later parts attract fewer readers. Personally, I enjoy the long stories on Literotica. So for me, the length isn’t really a problem, but I’m still unsure whether I should split it or not.

Don't fool yourself that the View count for a stand-alone stories means more readers. All it means is a click in, but you have no way of knowing if they clicked out straight away.

With a chaptered story you do get some idea of Reads. The drop-off you mention is typical - I figure by the third chapter, the numbers roughly represent people who are actually reading the whole thing - and the last chapter calibrates that number.
