Depression. It's a silent killer.

In my experience, the most common cause of depression is living the life you were taught to life as you were growing up, rather than the life that you want to live as an adult. You can't change the world around you, you can only change your part of it. I would suggest that you look within yourself, and decide what will make *YOU* happy, not what will make the world around you happy.

We didn't come into this world to serve a culture created by society, we came into this world to find a little peace and happiness of our own!

True, brain chemistry is a factor; however, often brain chemistry is affected by emotion. Negative emotions can create unhealthy brain chemistry.

A wise man once said: "Life is all in how you look at it and study it."

Sometimes we focus too much on things that are relevant only to other people's happiness, and has no bearing on our own happiness. We can't change the world we live in, but we don't have to let it control us!!

Change your outlook on life and the clouds of depression will dissipate, revealing the sunlight of happiness. Stay the course of unhappiness and the clouds never go away.

We can't change the world, we can only change our part of it.
 
Morning. I believe that we create our own reality. That said we can only create a better reality for ourselves from the place that we are at the moment. Following our relief brings us further towards the reality we want. It’s not an easy journey and it never really ends. Keep look for the next step then take it.

Morning. Had a fun filled day yesterday sorting through the remains of the mental illness of hoarding. So sad to see. I hope she can find some help now that she’s out of the situation. Depression has so many faces.

Has anyone dealt with cptsd with a therapist? I guess it's relatively new but seems to resonate and prior therapist brought it up. Also has anyone done ketamine treatments and how did that go?

Just relax, it will get better or walk it off. If I had a nickel for every time I heard one of those cliches I could make a really nice down payment on a car. I know people mean well, in their own special ways, but sometimes their attempts to help make me want to stick my head in a ceiling fan.
