All too commonin the forum and in the comments give on on the stories we write.
Blue Heelers aren't ugly that's a fact. BUUUUUT, the dog in the story is a cross between a Blue Heeler and an English Bulldog. Aa friend has a dog of that particular cross-breed and it is ugly as sin, a loving, friendly mutt to be sure, but still ugly. Apparently, the reader can't read with comprehension.Anonymousabout 6 hours ago
First of all, no blue heeler has ever been ugly.
Second, the story is pretty much the same thing over & over again, from the first half-page on. She might be a snotty bitch, but he has a being-an-asshole fetish. This is probably why he's alone, and living on his own world in the back of the house. Apparently no family either.
Makes me ashamed to be a 60+ male.
Finally, would it kill you to get a proofreader? Sheesh.
i'm guessing it's more holesome than wholesome
I find the lack of comments frustrating as I want to learn! You know, the comments that puzzle me the most are the ones they refuse to post.
There seem to be two meanings to a 'Favourites' notification: 1. Your story has been added to a reading list, and 2. Your story has been added to a favourites list. If it is the former, then they have not read it, so they won't be commenting then, or ever!Give my story a lousy rating, but don't leave a comment telling me what they didn't like.
Or post it to their 'Favorites' file, but don't offer a rating or comment at all. You get notified when someone 'Favorites' your story, and if you track your ratings
I used to track the ratings of my newer stories each morning and put them in a spreadsheet (older stories either weekly or monthly) so I could detect when I had probably had a 1 bomb and no comment. I moved house, and so I had poor access and stopped. I'll not be restarting. That said, I do check my latest story most days.[yes, I'm a ratings whore] you can tell if no new rating has been added.
The notifications always just say. 'XXX' has added your story to 'Favorites'. You are saying some of these may just be additions to the 'Read Later' list? Interesting, and misleading, bug, if true.I find the lack of comments frustrating as I want to learn!

If you use a spreadsheet to track your story ratings trends....you might be a ratings whore. At least, that's how I know that 'I' am one.I used to track the ratings of my newer stories each morning and put them in a spreadsheet (older stories either weekly or monthly) so I could detect when I had probably had a 1 bomb and no comment. I believe that originally there was only either favouries, or reading list, and readers had to use it for both uses. Then they were split. On the Stories page, a reader actually needs to click on Bookmark (another term) and then choose their list. On your Control Panel, my latest story has three favourite hearts, as does the story, but on my Stories page https://www.literotica.com/authors/AlexFourways/works/stories it also shows 11 in lists. Possibly it has been cleaned up, but I think I have had more than three 'added to favourites' messages. However, as I always say, "I reserve the right to be (proved) wrong." Or as Winston Churchill and others said, "When facts change, I change my mind." then, because he was a politician, he added, "What to you do Sir!"The notifications always just say. Note the "Used to", I add drop words for a reason. The date stamp on the Ratings spreadsheet is 23rd May this year, about a week before I moved house! If you use a spreadsheet to track your story ratings trends....you might be a ratings whore. At least, that's how I know that 'I' am one.
Reading Lists were introduced five or six years ago. Before that, there was only Favorites, which people used both for true faves (I want to read that one again) and "I want to read that one later." Some time before that, the site removed broken hearts, which turned up when a story had been unfaved - presumably read, but not put onto a keepers list.I believe that originally there was only either favouries, or reading list, and readers had to use it for both uses.
From what I can figure out, Faves currently suggest:Then they were split. On the Stories page, a reader actually needs to click on Bookmark (another term) and then choose their list. Sorry. Ursula's been at the ULA laptop again. I'll go spank her.I suspect an erotic librarian
Well, anyway, learned something new. Now when I see that someone has 'Favorited' one of my stories, I can at least give them the benefit of the doubt about not rating it.I believe that originally there was only either favouries, or reading list, and readers had to use it for both uses. Your attention to staff matters is to be commended.Sorry. Ursula's been at the ULA laptop again. I'll go spank her.
I should have laid hands on her before, not after. She's very slippery, that girl. More wriggly than an epileptic eel, so to speak.Your attention to staff matters is to be commended.
