Which scenario is most likely to unite the country?

List his violations of the Constitution.
1. Withholding foreign aid passed by Congress on the condition of getting Zelenskyy to dig up dirt on Biden.
2. Asking the Georgia state SoS to "find" just enough votes to swing the state to him.
3. Using the Alien Enemies Act to deport people with no due process. (Besides the Fifth Amendment rights to due process, the AEA itself requires a declared war.)
4. Stripping people's security clearances simply because they work for law firms that represent people he doesn't like (he has issued several executive orders to that effect).
5. Ordering criminal investigations of former advisors (Chris Krebs and Miles Taylor), simply because they criticized him.
6. Declaring DEI programs illegal and punishing private universities and companies for not abolishing their DEI policies (it's unconstitutional for the president to unilaterally declare anything illegal).
7. And just this week, declaring tariffs on movies produced overseas. Only Congress has the power to put tariffs on anything.

There's a lot more where these came from, but I haven't got all day.

Guillotine, face up
Well…just so you know, after Louis XVI was guillotined, 16,000 people lost their lives in the Terror that followed and the country was only brought to order by the installation of a military dictator - who went on to cause the death of over 1.5 million more people.

But 100 years later they did build themselves a nice big tower to celebrate the centenary of all that.

Decisions, decisions…

I watched All The President's Men recently (RIP Robert Redford) and Civil War too. Neither of them seem particularly likely outcomes for America's current political division. So I got to thinking about the actual historical precedents...

...with them in mind, and looking ahead a few years to the transfer of power in America, which situation do you think would be more likely to unite the country after Trump is done?

- the Syrian option: flees to Russia, abandoning minor officials to their fate.
- the Portuguese option: falls in the bath, goes into coma and is relieved of all power, on regaining consciousness flunkies maintain elaborate facade for him that he is still President.
- the Brazilian option: ankle bracelet then 27 years in prison.
- the Italian option: body dumped in the town square, strung up over a gas station to prevent more grannies from pissing on corpse.
- the Libyan option: caught hiding in a drain pipe, kicked to death on the spot.
- the French option (original version): caught fleeing, encourages foreign army to invade, buried in an unmarked grave with severed head between feet.
- the French option (updated version): 5 years in prison, no appeal.
- or of course the classic - the German option: suicide while holed up in a bunker, body burnt immediately to avoid Italian option.

Some of you may blanch at the violence of several of these options and I share that reaction. I'd like to stress that I really, really think its best to avoid any violence for the sake of the country. I only include them because I wanted to be honest and include the full range of real-life outcomes for these charismatic, strongman leaders.

Personally, I suspect the 'Syrian option' is probably the best way for the country to come together after he is gone. I also think it's by far the most likely scenario. What about you?

Would be great for the country to avoid the mess of judicial wrangling too.
Where's the "Deport all Progressives" option?

I'm suggesting that for Trump and his administration

The COUNTRY is just fine. The part that's fucked up is where you think you can roll in here, post meaningless troll bites, and get the reach around you want so desperately.

MY day was just fine. Until YOU showed up.

🙄

Derpy "thinks" the "COUNTRY is just fine"…

Spoken like a true sociopathic dying boomer / racist, fascist MAGAt.

The best option to unite the country after Trump?

J.D. Vance from 2028 to 3036, and then Marco Rubio from 2036 to 2044. By then, the Democrat suicide will hopefully be complete.

The problem with that theory is that, historically, Republicans have always found a way to fuck up the economy - their chances of making it the full 20 years from 2024 to 2044 without a financial meltdown at some stage is almost nil, just based on past performance.

Every time they’ve destroyed the economy they’ve been voted out of power.

Wall St crash brought FDR, Nixon’s uncoupling from the gold standard brought Carter, Reagan and Bush Snr’s stalled wage growth/high unemployment brought Clinton, and Bush Jnr’s 2008 financial crisis brought Obama.

The amount of American wealth they’ve wiped out over the last 100 years is staggering. And they get punished at the ballot box every time.

Anyway, I appreciate you’re just expressing a bit of pure partisanship fantasy but, back in the real world, the Republicans have proven repeatedly they can’t put together a winning streak. That might change but a long history argues against it.

When the Republicans have a felon rapist who hired a psycho that speaks in tongues as a spiritual advisor, how the fuck do you even start negotiations?

What is it about the Left, their asshole adherents, and their penchant for violence?

Trump was elected and is President. You can either accept that or you can't. If YOU can't, then that's a YOU PROBLEM and not a WE THE PEOPLE problem.

Thus, you can take your fantasies of violence and shove them into whichever available orifice you have empty at the moment.
The Death Cult Killer Furries. Their blood drenched hands have been worshiping at the alter of violence since ‘17…1917 that is.

Never ever underestimate their thirst for hate and violence. What are we up to now…120million+ dead from the lefts/ComIntern/Radicalized democrats pogroms?

Let’s tidy up a couple three things here.

Watergate gave us Carter. Nothing more or less. He was the worst president in my lifetime till the Dalai Bama and even he was eclipsed by Ol’ Pudd’n Head Corn Pop. That’s quite an accomplishment…you Radicalized dems should be proud.

Clinton was foisted upon an unsuspecting country by one midget. Ross Perot. Had he not split the vote, H.W. Gets the majority of those votes…and Slick Willie is either swept into the dustbin of history or runs in ‘94.

Presidents ride the wave of good economic times and sink with the bad. In my lifetime NO President has single handily done either…with the exception of Reagan, who actually pulled us out of the malaise of the 70’s and was reelected with a true landslide in ‘84.

Revisionist history.
Bullshit, revisionist history.
No one should read this and accept as any bit of truth.

Hey, ass wipe?!
I just called you a fuckin liar and you know what's going to happen?
Not a goddamn thing!
Because YOU ARE a liar and you're gonna sit there and take it because I can, and will, break down your post to it's bare boned shit of crap.

Wrong. Study after study after study has shown Perot supporters were about evenly split between Clinton, Bush, and not voting at all for their second choice. Besides, Clinton was miles ahead in the polls over the late summer when Perot was out of the race. And no one could run for president in 1994, as that was an off year.

'92! The very first time I voted. Knew nothing on politics. Perot played no part in my decision. The debate where a woman asked Bushie Sr. how the recession affected him and he had no answer while Clinton gave a heartfelt and personal reply sealed it for me and many others.

Here is the actual clip: Even with the holes in my memory of thinking the question was on recession instead of debt, I’m still closer to being truthful than the asshole Hump.

👍

And Romney lost to Obama when a woman asked that rich sociopath what he would do to help her not have to work three jobs while still struggling to pay the bills, and Romney completely ignored her actual question and praised her for working three jobs while still struggling to pay the bills - saying something to the effect of: “You’re a model American”…

Also, I know history - Watergate DID NOT directly give the win to Carter, but back then many in America still believed in the rule of law.
It was Ford's pardoning of Nixon FOR Watergate that sealed Ford's hopes to be elected to the office and THAT is what is his legacy is as a president (in addition to his clumsiness being mocked by Chevy Chase).

Some of us are even aware that Carter never actually used the word "malaise". (Look it up, he didn't.)
